What a Blast! Nice people, great weather, some tough air, and some great flying by the winners (not me btw - I HATE it when that happens!) ;-) Congrats to: Dave Zucker - First Place Unlimited - Dave was on fire! I don't think I could have beaten him even if I was practiced. He had his model (Icon - yeah I know... shut up!) landing slowly, controllably, and like it was on rails. Nice Job Dave! The Fresno Soaring Society will hold their 25th annual "Fresno Classic" soaring contest on the weekend of April 1 2, 2006. Was this contest formerly the Dr. Pepper Classic? Years ago I attended this a few times and have fond memories of the experience. Other members of our club at the time (ISS, Riverside) made the trek up to Fresno and had fun all weekend. Yes we used to call it the Doctor Pepper. Doctor Pepper used to sponsor the contest, after a couple of years of them not sponsoring us we changed the name. [RCSE] Fresno Classic
The Fresno Soaring Society lost it's web site. I changed ISP and MSN was short sighted and took the web page away and I haven't been able to set up a new one. I've made a few tries to send them over RCSE and they are either bounced as exceeding the size limit or, as the last 2 attempts, scrambled up. The Fresno Classic will be held on April 5,6 at Lost Lake Park near Millerton Lake, Ca. I can send a PDF copy of the registration form to anyone who wants one. CVRC has a copy on their web site.
