[RCSE] Interesting photo

2000-05-26 Thread glide

I went to the site that the photo is on (http://www.cirrus-rcfk.no/) and it
seems that this person (Inge Balswick) actually does this feat. Can anyone
translate the caption that accompanies the photo? The language is unknown
to me, but if I took a wild guess, I'd say Norwegian.

[RCSE] Interesting photo!

2000-05-26 Thread Barry Andersen

Guys, these responses sound awfully amero-centric. While I realize
much of this is in jest, this is a real guy who dresses a little
different than current west coast soaring chic. This is an
international list you know. Some of you guys need to travel!

This guy can probably out-fly 90% of those on the list. I vote it's
a real pix.

The real question is what to do about barefoot bohemian fliers, often
with no shirt on. (vbg).

FYI: Xenophobe: one who fears, mistrusts, or ridicules that which
is foreign or strange.

Evidently the pilot is Inge Balswick - one of the top flyers from Norway.
Do a web search for his name - you'll get a bunch of hits!

The real concern here should not be whether the picture is staged, but

I agree.
But no matter where or what you are there will always be critics.

I would say Norwegian is correct as an icon on the bottom of the page
says 'Norwegian Modelers'
.

It had to be staged... It looks like a composite photo. Also, in order for
that plane to fly in that attitude in the crow mode it would have to be
flying at 40 MPH. If the plane was coming in nose high, i would believe
it

FWIW,

A close pixel by pixel examination of the photo shows no evidence of
tampering. Even the shadow is correct. However, close scrutiny of the pilot
shows evidence of a blue cape with a yellow "S" under his street clothes.

Why can't anyone believe that it is real? We don't know the attitude/speed of
the A/C just before the pic was taken, we don't know the pilot, let alone his
skill level.
Looks to be wind from right-to-left, it's plausable, there is nothing "fake"
about it! geeez.
