Re: [RCSE] Muncie
Actually, this year they might allow it with 2.4 , but haven't in the past. Muncie site will be closed to RC flying beginning July 6th through August 10th. Spread Spectrum flying may be done at site 4 and site 8 if not in use for an official contest. Other areas may be open to RC flying after 5 pm if scheduled events are finished - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: soaring@airage.com Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2008 12:23 PM Subject: [RCSE] Muncie Hi, Is anyone from Muncie listening? As someone who has never been involved with power planes, I got here a day early and figured I watch some power stuff. Never realized that Pattern flying meant everyone does the same thing over and over and over, etc. for three days. It rained some today, so it cooled off a bit. Lots of big storms to the North. Yes, the air is "challenging." Hence, my post. But whatever you do, don't think that Cali is a launch and a speck every through. We can all romanticize the great conditions, but when the air is hot, the cycles get really spread apart and the wind is both strong and shifty (as in tublunet, not necessarily indicating up/down air) you'll indeed remember that the grass is not necessarily greener. You guys back there enjoy one end of the spectrum and we enjoy the other. Both will have equally hard times on eachothers' turf. I won't show up in Muncie without an ultrafloater, and when y'all come to Poway, you'd better have something that has legs in the wind. Yes, we may seem to take things for granted sometimes, like flying against the top half dozen HLG pilots in the world whenever we want, being able to work "light" lift with a 9.5oz bird and having a half dozen flight centers within an hour's drive. But we do appreciate these things as blessings, and soak up the knowledge and experience while we can. - Original Message - From: "Gregory Morris" [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: "RCSE" [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, July 28, 2000 4:35 PM Subject: [RCSE] Muncie Reposted You guys from California don't know how good you have it.
