Why not 2Meter? Re: [RCSE] What's your favorite contest/gathering format?

2005-02-10 Thread Stuart A. Hall
We have Jeff saying Friends don't let friends fly 2M and Howard
heralding the death or exclusion of 2M from the Nats. Why is this? I am
just curious, and have no vested interest since my primary plane is 115
Marauder RES, why we no longer have the Open class and folks want to get
rid of 2M?

Thanks,
Stuart

Once again the powers that be have forced the many to to their will by sticking 2M in the middle of the week; instead of on one end or the other. If they had the guts to do that - they would soon find out how few really value that class - and replace it with something more popular.

I'm your current 2M National Champion. That's why I
can say, Because 2 Meters SUCK!

Only reason I fly 2M in Muncie, is because it's held
in the middle of the week. What the heck else are ya
gonna do in Muncie, IN. for 2 days? ;-)

Mike S and I almost blew off 2M this year to take the
Lancair to Oshkosh. Maybe next year

;-)

Maybe I'm not normal but I kinda like 2M. Tougher to make times and flying
them has improved my skills somewhat, you really need to have at least half
a plan coming off launch.

In anything less than good air they come down like anvils, and when they go
up the little buggers disappear fast. I guess those are negatives, but it
makes it fun.

Because everyone has the expectation that they will max and the bigger
ships make it easier.

Or everyone is getting older and can't see as well any more ;-)
Or everyone is obsessed with having a bigger .
