Yes, Stephen is right.
Soft 2015 is 64-bits only and requires at least Win7 SP1.

# Platform Requirement

OSMAJVER=6
OSMINVER=1
SPMAJVER=1


and I don't think the Home version has a different OS version number.

So the [unspecified] issues are most likely something else.

Did you check the install log in %TEMP%?

It just popped up a box saying this operating system is not supported and when 
I clicked okay it disappeared , nothing in the log that I could see.

Very odd, never seen it before.
