animation editor display error

2020-06-05 Thread Nicole Beeckmans-Jacqmain
> hello.

i use softimage 2015 R2 on windows 10

i recently opened an old project of mine from 2016 (before R2)
and i noticed a change upon launch of softimage
mainly face robot at first appears in the UI so that i normally have to
switch to usual view

yet, the error which surfaced since then (in all the other scenes and
projects as well ) is that in
the animation editor ( be it viewport or floating window )
when i click on a point of a f curve to edit it
the graph zooms OUT to the point of being very tiny and in the upper left
of the animation editor frame

i can wheel MMB roll to zoom back in, or press "f" after selecting a y z or
x parameter

and then i can view normally the corresponding "white" f curve ( ...x, or
...y, or ...z etc)

but any time i try to edit the curve, the whole window very much unzooms
again in upper left and is thus very tiny

to the effect that i cannot use the animation editor anymore

i tried to restore "preferences" to default, to no satisfaction in
consequence

do you have any idea what is happening and what i can do?

thank you!

 Hi Mathias,
you saved the original file with Face Robot active. In order to deactivate it,
just save a copy of the file with the default layout.

I've answered this before, I cannot recall the details.
The changes you see are probably due to the face robot plugin being loaded
and changing user prefs
I think you need to disable facerobot and save the scene again.
There is some explanation for the UI for that here:

no it does not solve the issue, i'have also run a runonce bat and deleted
preferences to no effect
a guy on facebook told me it could be a graphic card driver related issue
so i kind of have given up as i can manage the hassle to "edit blindly"
and zoom with the wheel to check what change it did on the fcurve
(sorry for my continuous non-professionalism on such a forum)
i could of course re-install softimage but as i don't master nothing once
we talk about technology
i 'll wait to be very old to read the softimage manuals from Alpha to Omega
and work thru the understanding
as everyone else does.

Hi.

No unfortunately this unwanted " forced unzoom " is happening to all scenes
in all projects, be them new or old.

Thank you for your interest

It's not worth running "runonce" or re-installing the product or the video
driver.
What you first need to do is delete your Softimage user preferences.
Facerobot probably changed them, and now they are saved so you keep getting
it back even if you disable FaceRobot

Re: animation editor display error

2020-06-09 Thread Nicole Beeckmans-Jacqmain
preference folder has been deleted and indeed FaceRobot is not launched
anymore at start of new scenes

yet i keep getting instant "unzoom" in anim editor when i edit points
but it's a small bug honestly as when i just do not see the fcurve "moving"
when editing its points,
it's easy to zoom back to seek for the result in the fcurve with its moved
points

let's keep it at that!, thanks a lot everyone
