Go ahead and block it. Collateral damage? Good! That'll teach the
people on the same domain as spammers. Block dynamic IPs,
spam-friendly ISPs (that includes all ISPs, by some of the more
liberal definition of 'spam-friendly'), and also the range 0.0.0.0/0.

I'm just sore from gettin caught by rDNS and dynamic IP rules.

email.com (along with many others, such as mail.com) is hosted by
outblaze. they have stated publicly that if any mail from any of
their domains originates from any non- outblaze.com IP address, you
should feel free (and are encouraged) to reject it as a forgery. You
can tell an outblaze IP address since they have correct DNS entries
for them -- be sure to match the forward with the reverse to avoid
forgeries of DNS.

my bet is that you will find very few, if any, of those spam messages
originated at outlazed.com.

It's a real webmail type service.. So the same arguments that apply for why
you should/should not block hotmail, yahoo, eudoramail, and other free mail
services also apply here.

Hi Pete,
I used to blacklist email.com, but decided to remove them because we did
have several people receiving actual mail from users of email.com and
did not want to have to keep whitelisting specific addresses. If you
are blacklisting email just for yourself, then I don't see a real
problem with it...sitewide it could be a problem though.
