I had these CRC errors too on a GA-7VAXP mother board that uses the VIA
chipset. I got myself a USB/PCI card with a OPTi chipset.
Error free now!

Frans,

That fixed it. 50Kbps+! Thanks a lot!

It is even faster than the cable I had previously, and that one was supposed
to be 640 while ADSL is 512... Changing ISP sure helped... :)

Try using mgmt.o downloaded from the Alcatel website instead of the
windows file. This caused loads of CRC errors for me.

Well, now I have my speedtouch 330 working with Mandrake's MNF 8.2, I
get "CRC
error in an AAL5 frame" by the dozen, and the transfer speeds are around
25Kbps. My hardware is a AMD K6-3D+ running at 450Mhz, my motherboard
has a
VIA chipset (usb-ohci), and a lspci -v gives the following output:

Any ideas on what can I do to fix the CRC errors?
Thanks!

hi,

You can do nothing, pppoa3 just reports them to allow you to track a
connection loss. Those crc errors are due to a bad quality adsl line or
a buggy atm net relay...
