Hi Spencer,

I don't know what the heck that is, probably someone having some fun
and games, but it is not the Lincolnshire Poacher tune. The Poacher
signal has not been heard on any frequency since July of 2008.

There is an actual recording of the start of a Lincolnshire Poacher

Sounds like musical Christmas lights? I dunno it's just someone messing
around. A true numbers broadcast will usually come up at the top of the
hour and the interval signal will give way to some actual intelligence.

  Thanks for the recording, Does sound like an ice cream truck! Unfortunately 
it doesn't sound like the Lincolnshire Poacher, they have been off the air for 
a few years now. They always started their broadcast with the Lincolnshire 
Poacher tune.

These loggings were submitted to the Spy Numbers Station Database on 2011-12-30 
by Dave Payne, Sr., West Virginia, USA.

and starts and stops again. Fading out still in progress. Polyphone 
transmission with some computer jibberish behind it. Can only pick it up on 80m 
Yagi... even the 364-foot long zep can't hear it. Bearing is between 0 and 30 
degrees from West Virginia (the general direction of European Russia).      


The Spy Numbers Database is an effort to create as complete a record of Spy 
Numbers Station transmissions as possible. You can submit your loggings to the 
database, and search the database.
