[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Sync with WDR2 Radio Station does not work
Hi, i have a strange problem with synchronisation of 2 Players.. I use only original Logitech hardware, 2 Duet and 2 Touch. And a QNAP 451 NAS with Intel Atom CPU and 8GB RAM. And LMS 7.9. I disabled meadia stream scanning and other secutirty featurs in my Sophos UTM and Firewall. Since a special nighly build update of LMS 7.9 (i cant remember what version) the synchronisation does not work only for the Radio Stream of the german WDR2 station. The problem is that with only one player i can hear the WDR2 steam, but not with 2 or more in sync. Others like NDR2 and Bayern3 and Radio Paradise make no problem with sync'ed players. But WDR2 i can only hear on one device, without interruptions or problems. If i activate synchronisation, the time played display jumps back after some seconds, e.g. 1...15 than back to 10...15 or similar. Regardles if i use the web fronted or iPeng on iPad. I tried around with parameters in the sync-plugin and default settings, no change. I have one follow-up question: Since I updated LMS on the laptop to 7.8.1, the Squeezebox device screen regularly pops up saying an update to the firmware is now available. Should I go ahead and update the firmware? Although LMS software on the laptop is now at 7.8.1, the LMS software on the iMAC where all of the music files are stored is still on 7.5.4. I will try updating LMS on the iMAC soon when I have some time. In the meantime, will an upgrade to the firmware cause any issues between these 2 computers that run using different LMS software? I'm sure there's good sound logic behind it but what does the Artist count represent? I'd happily look at some code if I knew where to start. Did this command: dpkg -i logitechmediaserver_7.7.5_all.deb Every thing looked good but when I got to port 9000 it says This webpage is not available but it shows the little Logitech media server icon just before the http in the tab of the web page. So it must be getting there a little. I've been using LMS 7.7.5 on my Mac mini (Yosemite) to stream to a Squeezebox 3 and a Squeezebox 2 since whenever. This morning, one of them said it could not connect to the server. I went to the Pref Pane to make sure the server was running, and it wasn't. So I clicked Start Server. It goes gray and says "the server is starting" for a few seconds, then goes back to Start Server. I looked at the logs, and they say (several times) [16-02-28 10:52:10.5834] Slim::Networking::UDP::init (39) FATAL: There is already another copy of the Logitech Media Server running on this machine. I am having problems streaming radio these days. When pick the radio station from "favourites" on my Touch I get the message "Problem: Can't connect to the server for:" and then the name of whatever station I am looking for. The Touch is connected to my local server running LMS 7.8.0. I don't recall if the LMS Windows installer lets you designate an installation folder or not. If not, you could install one instance, move or rename its installation folder, then install LMS a second time. There will probably be some other conflicts, too, but they can mostly be worked around. For instance, if you want to run both as Windows services and do so by using the LMS control panel, it would use just a single service name (so you couldn't create more than one service). You could get around that by manually installing the second Windows service. If you want more specific instructions, let me know. Run the Mac's Activity Monitor, should show all running processes, you can kill it from there.
