[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 7.9.1 hangs on Artist picture lookup
Hi, I have Windows 10 and have been running LMS 7.9.1 for awhile without issue until now. A week ago I ran "look for new and changed media files" and LMS hanged on "Artist Picture Lookup" on an artist that it had scanned many times before without issue. I removed this artist's music and re-ran the scan and it worked so I didn't think anymore of it. Yesterday, I ran "look for new and changed media files" and it hung up again on "Artist Picture Lookup", this time on a different artist it had scanned many times before without issue. Any quick and simple fix anyone know of to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Server scan terminates unexpectedly after long loop.
I posted this in the Squeezebox Touch forum. However, it appears that this is the proper forum for it. I should also add to the post that I know very little about computers and related matters. So if you reply please understand that I do not speak Geek very well at all. This problem is driving my nuts so please help if you can. I have encountered the following problem under the following circumstances: OS: Windows 7 64 bit Home edition Player: Squeezebox Touch run wirelessly via Netgear router Hard drives are housed in OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 Logitech Media Server version 7.9.1 The server was running just fine until I added a fourth drive. After doing so I cannot get it to complete a scan. It begins the scan and all appears to be working but then, after it seemingly has completed the scan of all 4 drives it begins again to scan drive 1. This then continues for a very long time, followed by a message saying that the scan terminated unexpectedly. This has been going on for 3 days. Is there another version that is better suited to my setup? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem? I will appreciate any help you are able to provide. jdt7385's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56306 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108026 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Hi, was is the reason for the 4th disk? whats inside this disk? whats inside the scanner.log file? whats inside the server.log file? It seems your using playlists inside your 4th disk or a something other strange things happen but your description (see my question) needs some more info about your setup and your failure. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Server scan terminates unexpectedly after long loop.
Michael has already requested the server.log and scanner.log files in the original thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108025-Server-scan-terminates-unexpectedly-after-long-loop jdt7385 has posted copies of the logs there. Even though the original thread was perhaps posted in the wrong section it is going to get very confusing to have two threads on the same subject - not to mention the possibility of p*ssing Michael off when he is very kindly trying to help. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio::Scan: 0.93 in LMSUpdate 7.9.1 for Synology DS 216play
@mherger I have installed the latest version of the LMSUpdate Synology (my NAS is DS 216play) package, but Audio::Scan is still on an older version 0.93. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Scanning Issue - increments possible?
Are you saying you have folders with 20k tracks in them? That can work, but certainly isn't a good idea. LMS does apply some logic in an attempt to group albums which are poorly tagged. And albums in a folder are part of that logic. 1GB of memory certainly isn't much for a collection this size. I'd suggest you add some RAM (if possible...). Then go to Settings/Advanced/Performance. There's a parameter to configure the amount of memory the database is allowed to use. I know that for 50k+ the maximum setting can improve performance a lot. And try to get a copy of the server.log and scanner.log files (see Settings/Information). For DSD playback or transcoding I need it to be 0.94 or higher - which it should be, afaik, within this newest LMS version. You'll need dev tools on your NAS. Try to get them (gcc, make etc.) Once you have this, head over to https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/7.9/CPAN, download that folder. Then run "./buildme.sh Audio::Scan". -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
