I see... those lists currently are limited to 500 items. We can only get
50 in one request. Getting all of them can take quite a bit of time.
I'll see whether I can up that limit.

Thanks Michael, good news indeed! I scanned the package, too, and as
you said it looked like Synology never removed any of the discontinued
plugins.
I also noticed a number of other, potentially similar issues. Will get
back to you once I consolidated those a bit.. for me itÂ’s difficult to
assess.

The issues is a Windows specific problem and it has nothing to do with
file size or path. It occurs when resampling is required for the player
of a cue sheet file.

Check 'here'
for a method to use up-to-date support packages for LMS.
However, if all you want to do is run LMS on a unsupported distribution
(e.g. one using an unsupported perl version), it's probably overkill.

Proxied streaming will only affect internet streams - if the OP has
problems with their local library it is more likely a wifi network
issues.

On thing you can do is trying perlbrew to have different versions of
perl installed. That's what I use to compile the librairies for my
plugins when I need various versions of perl. Perlbrew itself is very
simple to install and use, I'm not sure how to force it to be the active
version when LMS starts, but I think it's fairly simple as well, like a
path and an environment variable to be set in the LMS script

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Perl 5.26 support?

2017-10-23 Thread Peter Galbavy

I upgraded to Ubuntu 17.10 to fix some Emby (and Plex, but not so much)
h/w transcode issues. This killed my LMS becasue I didn't think about
perl versions. I am now, temporarily, running LMS on a Windows PC using
a network share - but that gets turned off most of the time.

It's been a very long time since I got into any real perl source
maintenance but I thought I'd give it a try, downloaded the various
archives and also cloned the git tree. I gave up after a while...

One takeaway is that if nothing else, Digest::SHA1 should be replaced
with Digest::SHA globally, as it's a drop in replacement except that for
the OO interface you have to call ->new(1) instead of just ->new. This
however means replacing the ./CPAN/Digest/SHA1* stuff I think.

Not had a chance to look in detail, but have any records been kept of
the changes made to the "custom" modules that are kept around and in the
case of performance-only changes, with modern hardware is there any
point in bothering if the upstream will not change things?

Confused, of London...

1. Look at the highlight in the log file - the problem is before
flac.exe is used. LMS is giving wrong size and offset- this is
independent of flac.exe
2. Give reference to errors about 2Gb+ problems - in the past many user
have blamed exes for file system issues. For example, WAV file headers
can have a problem with large files and if a user is converting WAV to
flac the problem maybe in the WAV and not Flac.exe.
3. Get another player going, it is not hard. You need to eliminate
"unknowns"

Original content was individual flac per track. I merged them into
single flac with Xrecode or Foobar2000 (tried both). After some
googling, I found people complaining about windows flac.exe not being
able to handle 2GB+ size correctly. I'm not sure if this is the cause.

The issues is not related to Flac.exe or sox.exe as LMS is not
calculating offset and size correctly - this seems to be part of file
analysis. So eithewr info in the file is throwing LMS off or there is a
problem in the Windows version of LMS.

I don't use Windows normally - I'll have to look around to see if I can
find a system.

You still have not answered my question - how did you create the 192/24
Flac file ? What utliity was used - some 3rd party application have
produced "incorrect" flac file ? It is possible there is a subtle
problem with the format which is "fixed" after resampling to a lower
rate or conversion to another format.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Buffering problem

2017-10-23 Thread Philipp

I have my Squeezebox Receiver / Controller combo for nearly 10 years. It
worked flawless for years.

Recently I started having buffering issues with internet streams
(Radio/Deezer).

For the last week my streams now buffer every 3-10 sec.

I also noticed issues when playing from my library, but not to the same
extend as with internet streams. It just seems a bit slower to respond
...

I have tried everything I could think of ...

- rebooted router (no network issues) - I can play streams via
softsqueeze without running into buffering issues.
- upgraded firmware (controller; not sure how to upgrade receiver - it
is at 77).
- re-installed LMS 7.7.5
- upgraded LMS to 7.9.1
- reset receiver
- cleared preferences
- tweaked network buffer settings (default 3, changed to 10 /30)
- played streams via mysqueezebox

Not sure what else I could do ...

Any ideas?

Philipp

Hi Mnyb,

I did not change anything until this problem show up. Both stock
flac.exe and latest version were tried.

Hi bpa,

It was not on Daphile. It was on Windows 10 + LMS 7.9.1. The "Daphile"
you saw on my log is the player (LMS client) only. (Daphile= LMS client
+ LMS server) I already turned off LMS service on the player and sourced
from another LMS instance on a windows PC. However, you do remind me
the Daphile's own LMS. When the player was sourced from Daphile's LMS,
it can seek tracks! Therefore, there is something fishy about windows
version of LMS. If there is any windows user here, please try your LMS
to see if it can seek tracks on a 2GB+ flac.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] TIDAL connection thru LMS only streams at MP3 quality

2017-10-23 Thread Michael Herger

There's a menu in the Tidal app on your device which lets you choose the
quality.

I forgot to mention the obvoius ;-)

Unfortunately that doesn't change to flac-files for me.

What LMS version are you running? What exact build (see
Settings/Information in the web UI)?

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Not all favorites are displayed in Tidal app

2017-10-23 Thread Michael Herger

When I go into the Tidal app either from the Web Remote Control or
iPeng, not all of my albums are displayed under My Favorites. The
alphabetical listing stops in the mid R's. It looks like the Tidal app
just quits early.

How many albums would you have?
