Thanks for the suggestion - and Merry Christmas!

I deleted that folder (in fact the whole Squeezeplay folder there),
uninstalled and re-installed Squeezeplay, and it still won't connect to
the new LMS Server (same symptoms as before)

I don't get offered a Settings menu. When I open Squeezeplay it goes:
- Choose Language
- Welcome screen - continue is the only option
- "Connecting to mysqueezebox.com"
- ..."Problem connecting"

In your initial post, step 4, you say "all is fine until..."
Can't you add a new server at that point?

Basically all is fine when the old LMS server is running - I get the
settings menu, I can switch switch Squeezeplay between LMS servers, etc.
As soon as I shut down the old LMS server Squeezeplay reverts to this
"can't connect" state - i.e. whenever I start it up again it can't find
the new server again and won't connect (or offer me a Settings menu)
until I start up the old server.

Can't you use the "Back" button top left of the Squeezeplay screen, or
the left arrow key on your keyboard to back out of the "connecting"
screen?

The Back button only takes me back to the previous steps as outlined in
my 2nd post. So the Back button on the "Problem Connecting" page takes
me back to "Connecting to mysqueezebox.com" for a few seconds, then
back to the "Problem connecting" message. The "Problem Connecting" page
sometimes gives me 3 options:
- a musical note button on the top right, which does nothing
- a Try again option (which tries connecting again)
- A switch library option (which does the same as the Try again option)

That's strange. When I delete that folder, the install wizard shows up
and I have to reenter everything. I don't even have to re-install it.
Maybe we're using different versions (I have this one: SqueezePlay
7.8.0r328)?

Does SlimDiscovery.lua (in said folder) point to the right server?
(serverInit={ip="new server's ip",} and serverName="new server's
name",)?

As I've said before, 0770 works (at least in my case) fine, too. Better
even, as new files on the share get 0770 by default. (I've granted user
"squeezeboxserver" R/W access in QNAP's ControlPanel / Shared Folders).

now with your installer. Thank you! :o

Hi digimaster, tanks for your answer.
The perl package you are delivering uses dynamic libs, in this case
libnsl, the libnsl that on my system resides is somehow 32-bit, that
causes the Problem. In case i did not installed this lib.
Just for testing i installed via entware-ng per 5.24.1 (64 bit) this
runs without any problems (the libnsl is not beeing loaded) but is not
compatible with your package. So i need to find out where the lib came
from. Your System is a QTS 4.3 mine is a QTS 2.6 so the enviroment is
different, maybe that is also a Problem. Or my lib directroy is somehow
broken, i need a way to compare it against a plain QTS 2.6 (TS-459-Pro+)
System.

I've tried 7.8.0r328, 7.8.0r959 and 7.8.0r1034 and they all do the same

(where the server IP address is for the new LMS server) but I get
exactly the same behaviour. It seems that the only way I can get
Squeezeplay to connect to my new server is by switching it from the old

You could try to force it. Replace your entry with this one. And add
server's name and ip (with quotes!).

Code:

settings =
{playerId="0a:00:27:00:00:02",currentPlayer="0a:00:27:00:00:02",serverInit={ip="you're
 server's ip
here",},squeezeNetwork=false,playerInit={name="SqueezePlay",model="squeezeplay",},serverName="you're
 server's name here",}

Note: I removed "serverUuid", I doubt that mine will be very helpful
here.

Thanks - just tried that. Exactly the same problem. Is the server name
important? (I didn't choose one that corresponds to anything on the
server). The server IP address is correct though.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Problem migrating Squeezeplay client to new LMS server

2017-12-25 Thread itm

Breakthroughafter hitting Retry a few times I finally got to a
Settings menu, as was able to add my new LMS server as a remote library
(from the Advanced...Networking menu). It seems to be working OK now
with the new LMS server, and has survived a couple of restarts of the
Squeezeplay client.
Many thanks for all your help - it looks like that final change must've
fixed it!

That's always the first thing to try. :p

Glad to hear it's working now!

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] HTTP commands for Spotty playlist

2017-12-25 Thread grimmace92

Hi,

I have LMS installed on my synology NAS. I also have Ha-Bridge and
Vera. I'm trying to execute http commands through Ha_Bridge to get LMS
to accept Alexa commands. I've had some success getting a command to
work but it's not doing what I'm asking it to do. I'm trying to get LMS
to start playing a playlist within Spotty. I saved the playlist under
favorites and have tried the following URL. It return songs and plays
but it's not the playlist I have asked for. No matter what playlist
name I use it starts playing the same thing which is music I have stored
on my NAS not from Spotty. At least that is what I think it's doing as
the files it is playing are inmp4 format.

http://myipaddress:port/plugins/Favorites/index.html?player=aa%3Aaa%3A4f%3A06%3Ada%3A01&index=1&sess=1&p0=playlistcontrol&p1=cmd:load&p2=playlist_name:Gary's%20Playlist

Does anyone know what the proper http commands would be to get a spotty
playlist to load and start playing as well as turn on shuffle and
repeat? I've tried for hours and can't figure it out.

Thanks,

Gary

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] HTTP commands for Spotty playlist

2017-12-25 Thread Michael Herger
I think it would be simplest to just "playlist play spotify://..." the
playlist ID, rather than trying to get an item out of a structured list
by its hard coded position.
