Hi Guys Sorry for the confusion I may have caused with my earlier post. Just to be clear, the Geekworm case I purchased was designed for the Pi4 and fits like a glove with all ports being accessable. It also seems to significantly reduce the idle temperature of my Pi4. They also make a version with a fan which will probably be even more effective if you don't mind the slight noise pollution. carlmart wrote: > No one else in this topic has an album, with a wav such as I described > with several tracks inside and a cue file to open them, that works in > LMS? All my albums are ONE wav file, ONE cue file and ONE cover.jpg generated by EAC. I started doing this over 13 years ago. It worked. So... 883 albums later it still works! I have used PC's and Raspberry Pi's for LMS. Now, there is a chance that the next album I rip will not work, but after 883 successes, I feel I'm on a winning streak! Playing via a CUE file also works, but I don't see why anyone would do this as the power of LMS is in the database it generated. So I would jump to the conclusion that, LMS plays ONE wav file with ONE cue file as expected. >From memory, 13 years ago there was a small bug that was fixed by a patch I submitted, and a couple of years ago, there was a version of LMS the stopped playing CUE files directly, but that was also fixed by Michael. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Playing cue files with LMS
I've copied the cue file content that carlmart previously posted. Added white spaces, as per cue file conventions. (I assume these were automatically removed when carlmart posted it to the forum). Applied the cue file to a 16/44.1 wave file of mine. Rescanned. Everything played perfectly, with the cue file. Playing it via New Music worked fine. Finding the file via Artist Browse and playing it worked fine. Neither clicking in the cue file. Did you see the individual track names for the new .wav/.cue that you just copied over? If not ... then it is probably through not doing a scan for "new and changed". One of my suggestions from earlier was to make a .wav file (by copying one of yours that does not work properly) with only a-z or space in the file name eg test.wav Then copy the existing matching .cue and call it test.cue Then edit test.cue in Notepad and remove all accented characters, commas etc ... and make sure if refers to the file test.wav Then ... tell LMS to scan for new and changed. Then see if the new tracks appear ... and then try to play them. The problem is how LMS works with cue files. What explanation then for the test I was proposed, where I download a cue file and a wav file. The cue file opens the wav file perfectly in VLC, but it doesn't open it in LMS. What other proof do you need that something in LMS is not negotiating things as they should to play the file using cue? carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110871 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

The wave file playing doesn't prove much, as I have a lot of albums with separate wav tracks and a cue file. With LMS the files play fine, but the cue file controls nothing and does nothing. When the wave file is large and contains the tracks that the cue file should separate, LMS refuse to play the wave. I can't see how the wav file can be bad, as I have a lots of them, and this happened with several with LMS, not just this file. I did test that. What purpose would it serve converting wav files to MP3, as I never listen or care for MP3 files. WAV or Flac are the lowest resolution I accept. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Web Interface not updating to reflect working plugins.
Hi Yesterday I did a full uninstall and reinstall (deleting all previous files) of LMS. I am now running v 7.9.2 - 1565851052 @ Thu Aug 15 09:08:10 on a HP Proliant Micro Server Windows Home Server 2011 machine. I have successfully installed a number of plugins (eg. BBC iPlayer, Radio Paradise). I can access these from my Squeezeboxes and Squeezebox Boom and indeed from SqueezePlay, but they dont appear in the web interface. This isnt life threatening, just irritating. Any ideas? I did get some warnings about a missing ddl (libgcc_s_sjlj-1.dll) when I was installing LMS, but it didnt seem to cause any problems. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Playing cue files with LMS
The OP has been interested in playing DSD files. Perhaps their WAV files are in fact in DSD format in which case there will be confusion abotu whuich rules to apply We need to be sure what details of the "wav" files. Once determined - then figure out if cue /wav oir cue/DSD is the issue. I don't know much about DSD/DXD specifics but I did a test a while ago and this is what drilling down to a DXD file with WAV extension looked like - note only significance difference is the bit rate. 27944 +---+ |Filename: DXDWAVfile.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=27944| +---+ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110871 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Playing cue files with LMS
I've converted one of my m4a+cue files to wav+cue and it plays perfectly using the default filetype settings, via Artists, Albums, and even via the cue file in Music Folders (though it takes longer to find the start point with wav files), so my apologies for my earlier misleading suggestion. That error message definitely indicates you should check the scanner.log file: search for "Error". (As a matter of routine, I periodically check the scanner.log file after a full scan. I just open it in WordPad and search for "Error") Various people have said that you can't play the cue file from the Music Folder. It was suggested to me, on the PCP topic, to do the following to make the cue files work: - within the WAV section: change PCM from "Native" to "Disabled" (you could also disable the mp3 option, just to make sure) - leave WAV -> FLAC as "flac/sox" (the sox is ONLY used if resampling is required) That is what I did. Nothing changed with the cue files or anything I perceived. carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110871 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Raspberry Pi4
Morning All Ive just discovered this thread so I thought Id chime in with my Pi4/LMS experience. I have been running LMS (Max2Play) on a Pi3 for a about 18 months and its worked very well. The music is stored on a Nas and I regularly use the Spotty and iPlayer plugins. Id say that there were sometimes small delays when browsing through my music collection but never anything to worry about. However, when the Pi4 was released temptation got the better of me so I went ahead and purchased the 4gb version. I loaded up Max2Play (v2.5 beta) and away it went although this time feeling a good deal quicker than before. I havent carried out any specific measurements but Id say the scanning isnt much quicker than with the Pi3 which I guess is a limitation of the Nas arrangement I have. The day to day browsing is quicker though. Im not sure whether the extra memory (4gb) is making a big difference or not, I have tweaked the Database Memory Config in the Performance tab of LMS so perhaps the extra capacity is being used? I store my Pi4 in a smallish cupboard which also houses my Nas, a network switch and also my broadband fibre modem. This creates a fairly warm environment for the Pi4. Initially I didnt buy any kind of case and opted to see how it operated naked. Running purely as an LMS server it showed a temperature of around 62c at idle. This number was taken from the Max2Play settings/reboot screen so I assume it to be accurate. This seemed a bit high for my liking so I looked around for a case without a fan as I didnt want to create any more noise. I settled on this cheapo case . 27939 Which is availible 'here' (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32962800319.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.66147dd3MCC4rT_pvid=df0b32f6-50ad-4c05-a5cc-90b1aaf7cfd8_expid=df0b32f6-50ad-4c05-a5cc-90b1aaf7cfd8-1=1fba5b47-262d-483e-89ba-e23a3711d987_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_1,searchweb201603_52http://) It is also available on Amazon but I opted to import it from China (I think) for about £10. Its been successful as the Pi4 now idles at about 48c. So all in all Id say my Pi4 experience has been positive. I should stress that there was no real need to upgrade from the Pi3 as it was working perfectly but thats not really the point Im wondering now how much better it would/could perform if I attach my music files directly to the USB port Cheers Ashley +---+ |Filename: geekworm2.jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=27939| +---+ acanning's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13303 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110838 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Let's try to make things more clear then: 1) Problem one: clicking on the cue files does not work EVER. How do I solve that, making the cue file start the play? 2) Problem two: clicking on the wav file, when it contains all the themes, does not work EVER. As a result I can't never play those files. 3) When the themes files are separate I can play them alright, but the cue file for them does not work. How do I solve 1 and 2, where I can't play anything, or 3 to play the files with the cue file? carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110871 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

You didn't make anything clear in this thread or the other one. You said you could not play albums with cue files at all. Now it appears that you can play them just not by clicking the cue file. So don't click the cue file. I just tried accessing the album through Artist. No play. Here's the other access I can use to the album, where the cue file shows. > Don't click on the cue file then, problem solved. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Playing cue files with LMS
How can I do to play my music files that need a cue file to run? Browse Artists, Albums, whatever, but not the music folder. That's not supported. When I press on the cue file I get an "Empty" result. I guess you're using Browse Musicfolder (BMF). -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Albums with separate wav files for themes, instead of one unique wav file for all, will work if you click on the themes. Clicking on any of the red arrowed points will work. The same thing happens with the Raspberry PCP cue or themes files. +---+ |Filename: LMS cue #1.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=27931| +---+ carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110871 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

When I say "press" it means "click". I click on the cue file, either on web LMS or on the PCP Raspberry screen, with a mouse. carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110871 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
