[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Stream not working after update
Hi everyone :) First of all - many thanks for the amazing products, you guys are the best! I have a small issue: After an update from 7.9.2 to the version below, there are a small number of manually entered streams (in the Tune In url menu) that don't work anymore. I get: [20-05-25 10:47:06.1321] Slim::Player::Song::open (409) Error: Couldn't create command line for application/octet-stream playback for [http://zeddigital.blob.core.windows.net/4zzz/2020-05-10-16-00.mp3] http://zeddigital.blob.core.windows.net/4zzz/2020-05-10-16-00.mp3 Some other still work. I thought maybe the station changed something, but I'm currently listening on my old 7.9.1 installation on another computer. Any idea what could have caused this? Another piece of the puzzle is that I had installed bpa's PlayHLS at the same time? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] silliness getting to LMS settings page
Hello. I'm having trouble browsing to the settings page of my LMS. I know this is actually likely to be a dumb network-y question, but I don't understand quite enough about networking. I thought maybe if the fix is glaringly obvious someone might share it with me. I'm on Win10 with the latest LMS server installed (7.9.3). The computer I have LMS on is called "COLDBREW" I can browse to coldbrew:9000 and play with the LMS server just fine. When I click on the "Settings" icon at lower-right, 1. I get a "403 Forbidden: settings/index.html" error. 2. The address bar shows coldbrew:9000/settings/index.html?player= etc. BUT, if I edit the address and replace "coldbrew" with either "*localhost*" or "*127.0.0.1*" [/B]*or the actual IP of coldbrew*, *-it works and I get to the settings page.-* Any ideas? Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks, Owen. P.s. / FWIW - I checked that my puter DOES indeed know who it is by pinging localhost and seeing the response "Pinging *coldbrew *[::1] with 32 bytes of data" etc. Finally: here's the relevant log entry from the error: [20-05-24 17:55:30.1076] Slim::Web::HTTP::generateHTTPResponse (990) Access to settings pages is restricted to the local network or localhost: 169.254.57.70 -> 192.168.1.152 (settings/index.html) >From this it looks like maybe LMS thinks my external IP is 169.254.57.70? 1. I don't think that's the problem here, but it is considered good practice to do so. Example: 1. /share/Multimedia/Music <- "squeezeboxserver" needs RO permission to the "Music" folder and all subfolders. The owner should be your account (with RW permission). 2. /share/Multimedia/Playlists <- squeezeboxserver" needs RW permission to the "Playlists" folder. The owner should be your account (with RW permission). 3. /share/Multimedia <- In QNAP's "Advanced Folder Permissions", "squeezeboxserver" (and you user) needs RW permission to (in this example) the share "Multimedia" (but not to ALL subfolders!) The owner is admin. Just rewrite ("Apply and replace...") all permissions (Control Panel / Shared folders / Edit Shared Folder Permission). Start with *3(!)*! [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] IO::Socket::SSL missing on Mac
Hi everyone, Somehow I've managed to break the perl installation on my Mac (running High Sierra) that I use to run LMS. Everything was working great up to this morning when I did two things: 1. Install nginx via brew 2. Updated Spotty and Material plugins. One of these has broken my perl installation as Spotty and the podcast app now show the error: Code: Spotty requires the perl module IO::Socket::SSL. You can NOT use Spotty without this module. Please use your operating system's package manager to install it. I am running perl 5.18.2: Code: perl -v This is perl 5, version 18, subversion 2 (v5.18.2) built for darwin-thread-multi-2level (with 2 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail) Copyright 1987-2013, Larry Wall Perl may be copied only under the terms of either the Artistic License or the GNU General Public License, which may be found in the Perl 5 source kit. Hello digimaster, I am eager to try QLogitechMediaServer (QLMS) on my TS-212P. According to your initial announcement dated 2018-02-11, QLMS can be installed on, among others, systems with arm5te architecture. My TS-212P has armvtel-linux architecture. Does it qualify? ie Is armv5tel-linux a member of the arm5te family or something completely different. I am now running LMS Version: 7.7.2 - r33893. It runs fine with occasional connection problems. However, that version has no upgrade path. It was originally downloaded from the QNAP store but it has since been removed. I hope QLMS is a solution that works for me. If it does, what flavor of QLMS do I need? please explain exactly what you ar doing. What OS and computer would be a good start If you are new to LMS the I would suggest starting with v7.9.3, find your way around and then change ot v7.8.0 if you need to :) If it is a raspberry pi then Code: wget http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.9/sc/f6bf66aed99900eb2931b29ad9040d0762c5cbc0/logitechmediaserver_7.9.3~1590229251_arm.deb and dpgk -i will do the job, you may need to install some stuff first I normally do the following, not all is needed  Code: # install some libs sudo apt install libsox-fmt-all libflac-dev libfaad2 libmad0 libnet-ssleay-perl libio-socket-ssl-perl lame libcrypt-openssl-rsa-perl -y I have never needed (or even known,) if there is a hashtag to check :o If you paste the download link into virustotal that should confirm if it is clean. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] GPG Key / Security of LMS downloads
Hi - I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to download the latest version of Logitech Media Server directly from the slimdevices repository. Can someone please tell me how do I ensure that I am getting a secure unmodified package from the nightly builds? Is there a gpg key repository or md5 hash which I can compare the latest install package against ? That info line at the bottom of the home screen informing me that plugin updates are available is there only if downloads have finished downloading. At least that's my observation. The settings / plugin page sometimes takes a while to load. I guess that's because it's waiting for a download to finish? IIRC it will open eventually even if the download is not done. Maybe that's the timeout you guys were talking about. When I'm already on the settings / plugin page and I select a new plugin to install (like the AirPlay bridge), I got that "Restart now" button immediately. Haven't check what happens with your latest build, yet. One last thing, might be completely unrelated or pure coincidental: What I did sometimes to install Phillipe's plugins when they wouldn't is to select a small second plugin (like "Network test") to be installed. Then both plugins would be installed. But I never tested this fully and could be pure luck. All my testing was done with a git checkout of LMS. I have no idea what those 28 tracks are. LMS WebUI shows nothing in Albums, Artists, Genres, New Music etc. Everything was fine until Audio Scan 1.02 was introduced. Total Tracks: 28 Total Albums: 0 Total Artists: 0 Total Genres: 0 I've done all the usual things like clear browser cache, clear LMS caches etc but still nothings. To make sure scanner.log is clean I stopped LMS, deleted scanner.log, restarted LMS and saved a zip file - part of the log is attached. There may be something obvious there but it means nothing to me :( Couldn't attach the full log - even zipped it was far to big. +---+ |Filename: Partial Scanner.log.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30409| +---+ 2 x Touch 2 x Radio 2 x Boom 1 x Intel-NUC server/squeezelite running LMS 7.92 (from nightlies) on Windows 10 1 X Odroid-XU4 server/squeezelite running LMS 7.91 on Ubuntu 16.04 1 x iMac server running macos Hich Sierra WaveIO USB into Lavry DA-10 DAC Starfish Pre-amp : Based on NAIM NAC 72 Heavily modified NAIM NAP 250 Power-amp Behringer DEQ2496 Linn Isobarik DMS bobertuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30376 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109894 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I wasn't sure about download binary direct from github.com - I avoided it for repository xml and have used github.io URLs as it was intended for web pages - as they are very frequent downloads compared to the ZIPs but maybe it doesn't matter. Frequent downloads seems to trigger sourceforge sluggishness. Sourceforge has one good feature - it tracks the number and countries which requested the download. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112241 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I know that small zips can be fetched from Github via simple anonymous https as used by LMS plugin downloader ... that is how my RadioFrance one is done. What I was not sure about was the size limit. Using the URL on the "download" button - being careful about the revision and raw. When google code closed down a BBCiPlayer was migrated so this is an URL for an old version https://github.com/mylogin/mygithubrepository/raw/master/BBCiPlayerExtra-v106.ZIP bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112241 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Play streaming URL via LMS
I don't think the VPN is the problem, I didn't have one running before. I'm not sure it's the solution either... something else might be going on. I looked in the server log: there it says "401 Authorization required" Code: Slim::Utils::Scanner::Remote::__ANON__ (192) Error: Can't connect to remote server to retrieve playlist for, http://fm02-ice.stream.khz.se/fm02_aac: 401 Authorization required. Would it be an idea to display this error message? That would make a bit clearer what is going on with geo-locked stations, instead of just going silent. I fired up the SB Controller yesterday: it displays the message briefly. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Possible bug: Plugin updater
My mind can't seem to get a handle on the WebUI Settings page part of LMS - my code always seemed to be fighting it. So I always suspect any "Settings" code I think of - I avoid it whenever I can and will leave any solution to you.. mherger wrote: > > I put in a $log->error into the message routine to time when the > Message > > was initiated - it is put up when downloading counter is incremented > > (ie. from 0 to 1) which is when download starts > > The whole code is quite convoluted. Convoluted but after thinking about other solutions it is just working within LMS restrictions. I won't do any more active testing but will follow and not personal experience . > BTW: the mechanism here would be that the settings page would not load > before all is downloaded and ready. It may not be refreshed but it was called for other reasons - not sure why. > > Not sure why we see such different behaviour. > > What OS are you on? I've been testing using macOS. Ubuntu 18.04 on an oldish i5 (4 core) 16Mbyte system - fast internet connection - using "wget" on Raopbridge.exe can get downloads at 20Mbytes/sec I may have lost track of code changes so my results may be suspect. If we can find an alternative to Sourceforge - a lot of these problems would go away. In the meantime, let's see if the changes improve things. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112241 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
