Thank you so much for everyone's help. I totally missed the settings
button in the bottom right hand corner. Would have saved a lot of
messing about yesterday importing favourites from my pc but it was all a
good learning curve.

I don't know how to work with WinSCP. When I fill in my IP-adress I have
to continue with a username and password which are unknown to me.
Isn't it possible to use the button 'Move LMS Data' in pCP (old
version)? But perhaps I should first change it to Network Disk?

Awesome stuff. Glad I managed to do it all correctly! I've only had LMS
running for a few weeks and had no idea the OMLI was coming so was very
pleasantly surprised when I saw it in v8. I guess I will keep my eye on
the changelogs for the nightly releases.

Please give it another try. No update required - the problem was on
mysb, not in LMS.

outdated firmware solution:

1. On RADIO itself, go to settings/advanced/applet installer, install
the applet "Patch Installer"
2. Once Patch installer is installed, then reboot radio, then go to:
o*Settings > Advanced > Patch Installer*
(*Don't* go to Settings > Advanced > Applet Installer.)
3. on that Patch Installer menu, search and find: "version comparison
fix" and install that patch. You may need to reboot radio afterwards.
Can't hurt anyhow.

and yes, just reinsert old SD card and you're back to where you were.

Thanks for the file - that was very helpful. There's a bug creating the

Okay, understand.

Have placed an order for a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB and plan to go for
a piCorePlayer setup to run my 4 duet's.

I have around 170GB local music and consider using a 200GB micro SC card

Understand the potential risk of getting a corrupted SD over time, but a
image backup should be the quick recovery plan.

Any good advise for pi novice ? :)

Yep, in the webGUI for piCorePlayer, under the LMS tab, one can start
and stop LMS. Although I rarely need to do this. the rPi and LMS simply
runs 24/7. If I ever want to turn off the rPi, I turn it off from the
main tab in the piCorePlayer webGUI (important if running LMS, because
this does an orderly shutdown). Retarting the rPi is as sinple as
reapplying power to the rPi.

2020-11-27 Thread Guy Stalnaker
col996s -

There is no equivalent for the Pi (a LinuxOS based system) for the Windows
Control Panel application. There are no "tabs" to be seen.

Typically one starts/stops LMS from a command line terminal. Or, if one has
used a product like piCorePlayer or Max2Play (both created for Raspberry
Pis) one uses the webpage those systems provide to start/stop LMS. For
example, I use pi/CorePlayer on my rPi3. To start/stop LMS I run a web
browser and I go to the piCorePlayer UI at http://192.168.1.67 (<-- not
192.168.1.67:9000) and the piCorePlayer webpage loads on which is an LMS
section with buttons I use to start/stop LMS.

Back when I ran LMS on a Linux desktop, I'd use a terminal application to
run the installed init script to start/stop LMS.

Hope this helps.

You see all the tabs on piCorePlayer on an rPi from a webbrowser on your
laptop, go to:

http://192.168.1.24
except replace 192.168.1.24 with the IP address of the rPi on your

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I have enabled debug logging for
Deezer (I hope) and rescanned. Sanner.log and Library.db dropped to your
box. Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks again for your support,

NO! You don't need to edit the config.txt file. At least I never have,

Hey can anyone help me out please. There is a command from Music to
export a playlist but it's in a txt format. Or do I place the old XML
file someplace and if so how do I point LMS to it? Sorry, but I'm lost
and the threads that I think apply are difficult for me to follow.

Expand the SD card is named "*Resize file system*" in the pCP web
interface.

Can someone explain what the "Edit config.txt" step is for? I must have
set up a few dozen pCP instances and never needed to edit any config.txt
file!

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8 Music Folder is empty

2020-11-27 Thread EricBee

I installed LMS on a new separate W10 box and I'm seeing the same issue.
LMS works fine when first installed and the music library is
configured.

Then I start setting it up to suit my system and preferences and it
falls down.

I just did a clean re-install and its working. I'd like to backup the
configuration file every time I make a settings change so that I can
more easily revert, and hopefully isolate the problem. What is the path
to the file on windows?

Thanks
-Eric

If you go into the LMS web interface and edit the favourites you should
see an "Import" at the bottom.
I presume (but not tried) that the file that the .opml file that you
rescue from your old system can be loaded in to the new one using this
(which might be easier than finding out how to transfer files to Unix).

No, that's not normal. Spotty does indeed poll Spotify for changes. Such

What;s the setting for Spotify at Settings/Advanced/Online Music Library
Integration?

LMS 8 nightly; 3 Squeezelite players connected by powerline ethernet; 5
wireless players connected via Airplay Bridge; 1 SqueezeAmp player

The file should be called favorites.opml - what you found is the Perl
source code for Favorite module.

The favorites.opml file will be in the LMS preferences folder - look at
WebUI Settings/Information for the location of the preferences folder
on each of your systems.

I don't know how much configuration you have to transfer. But with a
recent pCP LMS is installed easily, with some mouse clicks. I'd
definitely recommend taking the step. It'll also solve issues with
outdated SSL libraries and the like.

Your favourites are contained in one single file called favourites.opml

Copy the file from your laptop to the correct location on your Pi and
than change the ownership and permissions on the file to match other
files in the folder on the Pi. Then restart LMS.

If you are a Windows person with limited Linux skills the best tool to
do this is probably WinSCP
