Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] SB1: is it dying or just no longer supported?
I have some SB1s and have this issue for quite a while - I thought it was because I run 2 servers (one backup). It seems to be timing- if you interrupt the auto startup and step through the network setup then press the down button just as it looks for a server, after a few attempts it will lock on. Once connected they are fine. I keep meaning to see if the Slimp3s work too! Happy days. I have glanced through the library as shown in the LMS UI and it appears good (but with 3500+ albums it's difficult to know if anything is really amiss). Am playing tracks now, which is good :-) Can this scan be run from a prompt? I'm using piCorePlayer, so I can ssh to the system and run apps/processes from a prompt. I ask because again both scanner.log and server.log do not contain any error, though logging is set to DEBUG level, at the time the "terminated unexpectedly" error occurs. Perhaps there might be console output (STDERR) that would provide more information. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Library scan fails on previous and now new pCP/LMS8 install
And ... Removing that file (well, all of the .mp4 files, there were 8 total) has allowed the scan to continue: Media Scan Details Discovering files/directories: /mnt/music/music (64807 of 64807) Complete 00:02:21 Scanning new music files: /mnt/music/music (5766 of 59562) Running 00:09:56 /mnt/music/music/Audiobook--NonFiction/The Great Influenza/127 - The Great Influenza - John M. Barry - 127 of 324.mp3 Lesson learned. Is there any way to tell LMS to actually report in the UI when a file causes such a failure? The log file itself does not report an error at this point. It simply stops with no further entries. Can this kind of failure be trapped (try/catch/finally?) so the end-user isn't left wondering what happened? "Terminated unexpectedly" indicates there is some type of monitoring of the scanning at work. None of this, unfortunately, helps with understanding why the error began yesterday after I tried to add some new albums because this offending .mp4 file has been in the library for a long time and was not one of the files I attempted to add. I've no idea what happened, but now it's working again after a hard reboot (yanked power and plugget it back in) of SBR. Here's what I did: 1. I checked the DHCP server log and found that it last got a lease 16:20 today 2. I tried pinging the IP number it got a lease for, and got "Destination Host Unreachable" 3. I looked at the SBR and the front LED was shining stead white (which is "connected" according to this: https://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SBR_front_button_and_LED.html) 4. So I yanked the power of the SBR and plugget it back in 5. The LED cycled through red-white-green-white 6. The DHCP server showed that Squeezebox had gotten a fresh lease 7. I tried pinging the squeezebox and that worked fine 8. The SBR showed up in LMS So somehow the SBR went offline with the front LED still shining white. (I can't remember that happening before in all of the years I've owned the SBR... probably not a good sign...?) ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Library scan fails on previous and now new pCP/LMS8 install
Morning Michael, I included my Performance settings in my original post because I'd found a slimforums post from you about changing them. The setting was on High. I have changed it to Max, and set the scanning priority to -6. There should be no issues with disk: FilesystemSize Used Available Use% Mounted on tmpfs 877.9M 22.5M855.4M 3% / tmpfs 487.7M 0487.7M 0% /dev/shm /dev/mmcblk0p2 29.1G158.0M 28.3G 1% /mnt/mmcblk0p2j <-- the LMS cache files are on here Unfortunately, a new scan with the modified Performance settings still "terminated unexpectedly" just as they all have since yesterday. Logically, the issue, whatever it is, has to be one of the collection files as they are the only thing that has remained consistent across the many changes made to fix this scanning problem. I checked the scanner.log from yesterday and now this morning and both stopped at the same file, an .mp4 file. Why this is now a problem when it was not two weeks ago (or a year ago when the files were added) I cannot say. But I'm moving any .mp4 file in the collection to a backup folder outside the collection path. I'll rerun the scan and report results. If the issue continues, I'll post an archive of the logs. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0.0~1605342997 on debian suddenly says "No player"
My LMS 8.0 have worked fine since I installed it, controlling an old duet receiver. But today it playback suddenly stopped and LMS says "No player". What happened here? Did the duet suddenly die? Could it be something else? The /var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log has messages like this: [20-12-29 07:34:51.1967] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::Players::_players_error (377) Unable to get players from SN: 502 Bad Gateway, retrying in 900 seconds But this message isn't from the time when the problem happened. (but messages like this comes with 1h intervals and have been doing so for a while) Does anyone have any idea what may have caused this?
