Generally people using my plugins on 8.* should be aware of that they
are totally unsupported so unless someone else decides to maintain them
and keep them updated with LMS changes they might break at any time in
the future even if they might seem to work initially. See this post for

Having said that, Michael recently added more of my plugins to the
unsupported repository so if you activate use of unsupported extensions
in LMS 8.1 Settings/Plugins you should now be able to install the
unsupported versions of:
- Custom Browse
- Custom Clock Helper
- Custom Scan
- Dynamic Playlist
- SQL Playlist
- TrackStat
Another community member have also tested Multi Library in the following
post so I guess Michael(mherger) will add that soon unless he or anybody
else have seen some issues with it:

As a side note, some people today using Multi Library plugin can get
similar functionality with the built-in support for virtual libraries
thats now available by default in LMS. People using Multi Library
should probably consider possibility to migrate over to virtual
libraries.
Please note that unsupported extensions are disabled by default so you
need to activate usage of unsupported extensions in LMS Settings/Plugins
to see any unsupported plugins.
Regarding TrackStat menu, its not related to any other plugin so i
would expect it to show up and it sounds like it did for PasTim in the
above post where he tested Multi Library and the other plugins. I think
someone mentioned that TrackStat entry was missing in LMS
Settings/Plugins if manually installed in 8.0 but I havent seen anyone
indicating that the My Music/TrackStat menu were missing.
Regarding Dynamic Playlist/SQL Playlist plugins there is currently a
known bug that they dont include content from integrated streaming
services in LMS 8.*. Its not known yet if the problem is in the plugins
or in LMS code.
There is also a new Ratings Light plugin being developed that might be
able to replace TrackStat usage for people interested in ratings
functionality:

Ive currently got indications that a community member is interested to
try to maintain Database Query plugin and TrackStat so these might
appear again as officially supported plugins in the not too distant
future. I wouldnt expect them to get new functionality, but maybe they
can at least be updated to work with new LMS releases.
My hope is that this community once again shows it strength by
implementing new creative plugins instead of holding back by refusing to
upgrade LMS or getting stuck by trying to keep old plugins alive with
minimal effort instead of being creative and implementing new
revolutionary functionality:-)

Guess you are using LMS 8.0 or later ?
In that case thats the problem because my plugins arent supported on

They might still work if you are lucky but can break at any time. In LMS
8.1 its possible to install Custom Clock Helper by activating the Use
unsupported extension option in LMS Settings/Plugins, the alternative
if you cant upgrade to 8.1 is to download and unzip the plugin in LMS
Plugins directory but thats not something I would recommend unless you
know what you are doing.
I think the Custom Clock applet should still be possible to install
through Applet Installer as normal even if LMS 8.0 or later is used.

I don't think the scanner picks them up now, but I have never actually verified that, so I can't guarantee its effectiveness. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.1.1 and Max2Play / Napster-Problem
I am running Logitech Media Server on Max2Play on a Raspberry 4b. After i installed the Debian version of LMS 8.1.1 Napster would not play (songs would be shown as if they were playing but no sound). Is this an official problem? I remember there had been such a problem after Napster switched to a new encryption years ago. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Custom Clock Helper applet missing after factory reset
I recently had to do a Factory Reset on my radio. In doing that I have lost the Custom Clock Helper applet and the screensaver configurations which I spent so much time creating. The radio's Applet Installer no longer offers the Custom Clock Helper nor is it listed on the LMS Plugins tab. The Custom Clock Helper applet is available on Erland's website; I downloaded it but have no idea how to manually install it, and his Wiki link fails to connect, so I don't know how to fix this. It doesn't show up in track details and I'm not sure where Foobar puts it. If you look at Properties for a song in Foobar there's a metadata, details, replay gain and artwork tabs. All of my songs have the album cover in the artwork tab under Front Cover no matter where the image came from. I've added a bunch under Rear Cover and Artist. Try enabling info level logging on plugin.customscan to see if it seems
to progress and just is slow or if it has hanged on a specific track. If
info level logging doesnt help you can also try to set the log level of
plugin.customscan to debug.
Could be that its just a bit slow if you have a large library, it tries
to run on low priority to make it possible to play music during
scanning.

answer what your best options are, Im personally not familiar with
using LMS on Synology devices. Generally if upgrading LMS on Synology
doesnt delete existing plugins it might work if you upgrade, but please
note that running them on 8.* is unsupported and they might break in the
future even if they seem to work right now, more information about using

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Tidal app not appearing on SB Receiver & Radio
Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right forum or if it would be better in the dedicated Radio/Duet forums, but it might as well be a server issue... I'm trying to get TIDAL access up and running, but on Squeezebox Radio and Receiver the TIDAL app is not showing up under "My Apps". It's working on a Squeezebox Boom, but here I can fix the TIDAL sub-menu in the main menu via the server config. TIDAL access in principle is working (also with AAC streams via conversion) in Boom, Radio and Receiver, but on Radio and Receiver the only way to start the TIDAL app is to uninstall it via the "App gallery" menu, re-install it and start it directly after the "add link" option (which doesn't seem to do anything). But as soon as you lose the TIDAL screen, you have to go the same way again, the "My Apps" menu doesn't list TIDAL. BTW, also on the web interface TIDAL doesn't show up under "My Apps". And even more strange: after many server and client uninstallations and installations and reboots I had the TIDAL app in "My Apps" on all systems, but now it disappeared again. Any clue how to make this work? I tried the latest Nightly Build (Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.1 - 1609569900) and am running it on OpenSUSE 15.2. TIDAL plugin is active, sync to mysqueezebox.com is running, TIDAL account is activated via mysqueezebox.com. And, as mentioned, in principle it's working, except for the disappearing TIDAL app. Any clues? Any log files I should scan to get some more details on this? I think anyone that wants to help would need more information, such as:
- Did you upgrade an existing installation or did you do a complete
reinstall in a new location or computer ? Im asking because if you
upgraded and had the plugins there before they should still be there
after the upgrade and you best shot is to look in server.log for errors
and let us know what it says.
- Which plugins do you have problem with ? Ive made over 30
plugins/applets so it would help to know which ones you have problem
with
- Is the problem that you cant install them ?
- Is the problem that they dont show up after installation ?
- Do they work partly but have some unexpected behavior ?
- Does LMS itself work or does the plugins cause LMS to hang or stop
working properly ?

Looking at log in more detail. The routine serverHostname is clearly not working as servername seems to be all blanks but correct length. The code is supposed to get server name and then pad out with nulls to 17 bytes long. Looks like all padding. IF LMS transcodes another format (e.g. AAC) to Flac for a player to play - again the GAIN is sent to the player. I'll look through the rest later. A quick comment - the log show where LMS is processing the Discovery packet. - if you enabled DEBUG does it show what LMS sends out in reply ?
