Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can't change LMS Libray Folders: DB missing log messages
BTW, I guess the reason the Server.log file would not upload is due to the size(528KB). I could split it into sections and upload each section Compress it. If that doesn't help, upload to https://www.dropbox.com/request/T3RctyzGgNg0oFDubq6a. Or at the very least upload the _last_ few hundred lines, rather than the first. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS problems with time being reported in Media Scan Details
I am using Raspberry pi3 with pCP and nightly updates of LMS. I have set the correct system time in pCP and correct time is showing on my LMS Touch screens. Internet modem/router time has been checked and is set correctly. My computer system is displaying correct time. My problem is that currently I have Rescan Media Library set to do a daily scan at 8.30am local time. Historically it has always behaved and started the task at that time, taking just a few minutes to complete. In the last few months I have noticed that the scan is commencing exactly 1.5 hours later than the set time, i.e. at 10.00am local time. This happens every day. Has anyone else noticed this, and more to the point, am I missing a setting somewhere? It isn't a huge problem as I can work around it, but am curious to solve it! [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Best way to tag album & album set titles in multidisc sets?
I am wondering how best to set up album & set titles for multi-disc sets in tags that will work nicely with LMS. I find it straight forward and logical to handle this by folder path in my file system - I have a bottom-level folder per disc and give it a parent folders if it is part of a multidisc set. For example: Eagles\[1975] One of these nights\ Eagles\The Studio Albums 1972-1979\[1972] Eagles\ Eagles\The Studio Albums 1972-1979\[1973] Desperado\ Eagles\The Studio Albums 1972-1979\[1974] On the border\[1974] On the border CD1-2\ Eagles\The Studio Albums 1972-1979\[1974] On the border\[1974] On the border CD2-2\ Eagles\The Studio Albums 1972-1979\[1975] One of these nights\ ... etc. In this example I have shown two copies of One of these nights, one in the box-set, one acquired separately. I've fictitiously made "On the border" a double CD to illustrate how I handle it, i.e. each disk gets two parent folders. flac files are only ever contained the bottom folder of each path. I am, however, stuck as how to do it with tags as there is no hierarchical system for handling album titles, just the "Album" tag, as far as I know. I could use this "Album" tag thus: "The Studio Albums 1972-1979: [1973] Desperado" ... but this is a bit ungainly when browsing LMS. Ideally I would create and use a tag called "AlbumSetTitle" or somesuch for the set title, e.g. "The Studio Albums 1972-1979", keeping the "Album" tag for disc title, e.g. "[1973] Desperado". However, although I can create tags (in mp3tag), as far as I can see (and I have Googled around a bit), LMS cannot use it for browsing/searching - do please correct me if I am wrong! Any suggestion welcome, thank you. hoverdonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69486 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114268 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Probably worth noting that GMT and UTC are not the same, even though in winter they do map to the same time value. To enable local time in *nix you need to copy `/usr/share/zoneinfo/` to /etc/localtime. Depending on the application it may also perform its own timezone management, referencing either /etc/timezone for the system wide setting of timezonestring or a private config file (e.g. php does that). gordonb3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114253 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Setting time on Docker LMS
Fairly sure setting TZ as an environment variable will work well. That said, as a habit, if I have containers that I want to track the underlaying *NIX hosts timezone I do the following. It's also what I do with my LMS container and it seems to have worked so far . Setup 2 read only bind volumes for the containers pointing at the hosts /etc/localtime and /etc/timezone as below (if using the command line, adapt as needed if using a Docker GUI of some sort). Code: -v /etc/localtime:/etc/localtime:ro -v /etc/timezone:/etc/timezone:ro What this does is setup the LMS Docker container to track whatever the host is configured for regarding timezones and calculation rules. You can verify this by running up a shell on the running container and checking. Before: Code: root@lms:/config# date Mon Mar 29 13:24:30 UTC 2021 After: Code: root@lms:/config# date Mon Mar 29 14:26:58 BST 2021 You can see that without the tweak, it is setup to UTC in my case, after it is tracking BST as I would expect. For anyone that cares, /etc/timezone is a text representation of the timezone configured, and /etc/localtime is the binary rules used to calculate the time from said timezone. Thank's The only solutions for a Synology not capable of running Docker are 1) Attempt to downgrade the version of Perl recently installed - not advised 2) Get a Raspberry Pi, install piCorePlayer and LMS and point it at the files on your NAS via NFS or CIFS/SMB mount - this is very well documented 3) Get a Raspberry Pi, install piCorePlayer and LMS and move your music files to an attached USB drive - also well documented 4) Get some other PC/device install a version of Linux, install LMS and point it at your NAS via NFS or CIFS/SMB mount - pretty easy really with some basic knowledge of Linux VB2.4 STORAGE *QNAP TS419P (NFS) Living Room* Joggler & Pi4/Khadas -> Onkyo TXNR686 -> Celestion F20s *Office* Joggler & Pi3 -> Denon RCD N8 -> Celestion F10s *Dining Room* SB Boom *Kitchen* UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* Pi Zero+DAC ->ToppingTP21 ->AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV) & Bathroom* SB Touch ->Denon AVR ->Mordaunt Short M10s + Kef ceiling speakers *Guest Room* Joggler > Topping Amp -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes Everything controlled by iPeng & Material on iOS d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113893 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS plays a track at half speed .
Really puzzled about thus and appreciate that it may not be LMS that is the issue but I need to start somewhere . System - LMS - Raspberry Pi 4 8GB plus Crucial 2TB SSD HD all using Max2play Distro - Player Allo Digione on Pi 4 2GB - Digital SPDIF out to MiniDSP DDRC 22D acting as DIRAC Live DSP unit also digital volume control - Digital out then in to a MiniDSP 10 x 8 HD unit acting as Digital Crossover and DAC - Three Way active system using NVA Power Amplifiers and stacked KEF 103 Reference speakers . Now today a track from the Steve Mason Remastered Yes albums came on and played at what seemed to be half speed (ie 16 instead of 33) I know this is not relevant to digital as it has no rotation speed but this the the sound equivalent that came out with vocals and music slowed down . Track before and track after played fine (hence why this may not be an LMS issue) the main difference on the track is that the others are all CD Flac rips at 44.1 while the problem track is a 96 / 24 . Does anyone have any idea why this has happened and is there a fix to restore the correct playing speed . System - Concordant Exhilirant Valve Pre , SBT Triode EDO,Toolbox 3.0 , Theta Data Basic II Transport , Perpetual Technology P-1a,P-3a,Anti Mode 2.0 Dual Core,Krell KSA50 MK 1 . bencat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=54878 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114261 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
