Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Session does not have streaming privileges - Tidal Family - 2 players playing
Indeed, but then I would expect it to be happening all the time instead twice, ever. That's the mystery. I think they only check on certain events and not others. I'll switch her player to a different account and see what we get (which will be a joy because the accounts are a mess). gvh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1879 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113195 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Very strange scanner bug. Seems to be seeing my Tidal accounts as albums
I have actually seen something of this bug since LMS8 and Michael's first attempts to integrate Tidal's data into the main LMS data. However I now have Tidal set to debug in the logs so caught a lot more of it. I have a Tidal family account and both accounts are configured on MySqueezebox.com I was on the Tidal app and saw 2 new albums I fancied trying so added them to favourites. I then switched to the LMS UI and found all my Tidal albums missing from the catalogue (it happens sometimes) so ran a scan for changes. Here's the bizarre bit, it looks like the code or the Tidal API is listing the email addresses of each account as Albums. You will see it say "Importing album tracks for 2 albums..." those two albums are the email addresses of each Tidal account! Obviously below I have replaced the email addresses but I hope it's clear what's going wrong The scan then successfully picks up Artists and Playlists, it's just albums going wrong. Michael, I'm very happy to send you the full logs etc. if it helps Windows Version: 8.0.0 - 1599750927 @ Thu Sep 10 17:43:09 WEDT 2020 I won't install a newer version just yet Scanner: Code: [20-10-04 08:02:52.4602] main::main (206) Starting Logitech Media Server scanner (v8.0.0, 1599750927, Thu Sep 10 17:43:09 WEDT 2020) perl 5.014001 [20-10-04 08:02:52.6202] Slim::Schema::forceCommit (2157) Warning: Trying to commit transactions before DB is initialized! Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0 repository problem
Here's a view: Ultimately everything has a life span. This ecosystem has been on life support for years and dependent on a few amazing people and some commitment from Logitech. It can't last and maybe we need a strategy to retreat to the linux platforms? As I discovered earlier this year the Pi-based solutions are really easy and really satisfying. If we embarked on a coordinated plan of education it would really lower the barriers to entry for a whole new group of less technical people. E.g We contribute a lot of tutorials to the Picoreplayer site: Videos, FAQs, shopping lists (per country), recipes of hardware. We stop people having to trawl the web putting all the pieces together by themselves. (My day job is CTO and I deal with a 15 year old, million line Java platform in a rapidly growing company. Legacy is my life!) gvh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1879 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111658 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Daphile is very good. I ran it for a few years on an old HP micro server. However the release version gives you no ssh access and I started to have problems that I think might be hardware related and could not diagnose them. So I'm back on Ubuntu desktop, because I can. So in summary, Daphile is excellent but install the beta which has ssh enabled. gvh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1879 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
