Here's a view: Ultimately everything has a life span. This ecosystem has been on life support for years and dependent on a few amazing people and some commitment from Logitech. It can't last and maybe we need a strategy to retreat to the linux platforms?
As I discovered earlier this year the Pi-based solutions are really easy and really satisfying. If we embarked on a coordinated plan of education it would really lower the barriers to entry for a whole new group of less technical people. E.g We contribute a lot of tutorials to the Picoreplayer site: Videos, FAQs, shopping lists (per country), recipes of hardware. We stop people having to trawl the web putting all the pieces together by themselves. (My day job is CTO and I deal with a 15 year old, million line Java platform in a rapidly growing company. Legacy is my life!) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gvh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1879 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111658 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
