It also works with multiple tags if they are in the correct order (which
depending on your tagging software, might get tricky).

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 8.1.0 released!

2020-12-28 Thread pputzer

Hi Michael!

Today I've upgraded from the defunct Synology package (8.0.1) to the
latest semi-stable Docker image (8.1.1-dev). After fixing the the paths
in the various preferences and playlists, everything was fine until the
first restart of the server (triggered via the Plugins tab). Apparently
when LMS restarts itself, all "non-supported" plugins are deleted.
Previously, I could manually install such plugins by copying them into
cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins. That still works, until I let the server
restart itself (the plugins stay safe when I restart the whole container
via Docker).

Is this behavior intentional (didn't find anything skimming over the
last commit messages, but I didn't investigate in-depth)? If so, I think
there will be a lot of questions when more people upgrade to 8.1.x.

Well, that was the only Plugins folder with the Synology package.
According to the server information tab, there are three possible
locations for "Extras" (I assume that means plugins and support files):
/config/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins, /lms/Plugins,
/config/cache/Plugins.

/lms/Plugins is not supposed to be persisted, so that would leave
/config/cache/Plugins?

That appears to have worked (didn't have any plugin autoupdate yet, but
restarts triggered via activation changes have not wiped the manually
installed plugins.

Note: I had to manually create the folder /config/cache/Plugins.

Just switch to the docker version on the 918+!

To be fair, the DS215j is seven years old and was an entry-level NAS
geared at home users even back then.

I've switched to docker for some time now, but the PHP packages have
indeed never been required for LMS. As Michael wrote, this sounds like
another problem altogether.

You can set UID and GID via env variables.

I think I stopped reading at the default behavior of the LMS container
and skipped over the last sentence, so the fault is entirely mine.

/etc is the traditional place for system config files on Unix (and
Unix-like OS such as Linux). Synology NAS are running Linux.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS plugin 'restart now/restart later' notification won't go away

2016-05-22 Thread pputzer

Unfortunately, this issue has surfaced again.
http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/slimscrobbler/SqueezeScrobbler-1.2.8.zip
is not a valid link anymore. Clicking through the various SourceForge
levels,
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/slimscrobbler/SqueezeScrobbler/v1.2/SqueezeScrobbler-1.2.8.zip?r=&ts=1463912368&use_mirror=iweb
appears to work as a direct link - but I would not know how long :(

There even seems to be a new version 1.2.9 (no documented changes)
available under
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/slimscrobbler/SqueezeScrobbler/v1.2/SqueezeScrobbler-1.2.9.zip?r=https%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Fslimscrobbler%2Ffiles%2FSqueezeScrobbler%2Fv1.2%2F&ts=1463912432&use_mirror=iweb.
