I am using sonos in UPNP, coreplayers, etc.. and I find switch track, pause, when I load a new queue while playing all a little harsh doesn't seems to fade in and out. I will review my cross fade settings and see if I missed something. Maybe another option on the audio setup tab? Bump... Is there a solution out there for fade in fade out when switching tracks, pause and restart of players. I find it pretty harsh when doing these functions particularly when the volume is reasonably loud. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Ignore Lyric tag when searching
Song of my music collection has a tag called lyrics which obviously contains the lyrics to the song. When doing a title search, I notice the songs whose lyrics contain my search request are returned as well and the title track. Is there an easy way (other than deleting the lyrics tag) to remove this tag from the search request. I am using the following search request with cli: titles 0, 20 artist_id:2323 search:sweet_dreams Thanks, Ynot ynot1234567890's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66569 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109208 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Yes with solid network and decent bandwidth and server, streaming pcm has it's advantages in particular the application of gain and better support for gapless playback and in general most of the players I have used all support it with little or no effort. But that's just my 2 cents -------- ynot1234567890's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66569 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107012 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

After much digging and help from others, I have come to the same conclusion. Those log files do tell a lot. In the short term, I have manually resampled those few FLAC files that are high res (> 44.1kHz) and that seems to alleviate the bulk of the problem, but I will forward your note to Phillipe for consideration as I think I would not be the only one who would benefit. Not sure why LMS doesn't consider this on its own already??? Yet I can make it work for FLAC to FLAC. Kinda weird. Gonna throw in the towel and downsample manually via command line to a workable format for all players. This will at least provide the gapless and replay gain functionality. Thanks for your input. Diggin into it on the UPnP thread as you suggested there is a little more to this transcoding when using that plug in. I will try Phillipe and see if he can shed some light on this issue. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Transcode / Resample Custom-convert.conf
Thanks for your input I will give the suggested commands a try. I have used the default convert.conf as a basis as suggested. All the previous testing I did did not resample the hi-res flac's for whatever reason. If this proves unsuccessful, I will repost in the UPnP bridge forum. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Transcode / Resample Custom-convert.conf
Apesbrain wrote: > Can you please explain what it is you want the CUSTOM-CONVERT.CONF to do > and why? I have several media players in my home (Sonos, PI3 - Moode Player, Android Settop boxes - BubbleUPnP). They all communicate with LMS using UPnP bridge plugin. Each player has some unique features which allow some formats to work, some not so much. One thing I have noticed is that if the audio files are converted to PCM format, things like gapless playback, replay gain, etc.. function properly. Because my network is quite robust and the LMS server is pretty powerful, I have setup LMS to stream to the players only in PCM format and the server transcodes all files to this format PCM at 44.1kHz, 16 bit regardless of format MP3, FLAC, ALAC, etc.. . I have managed to use make this work with all formats except FLAC high sampling rate files like 88.2 and 96 kHz files at 24 or 32 bit. Many of my players do not support the high res FLAC format (Sonos in particular) I realize I can transcode the highres files I have to flac 44.1/24 format offline and save them but I was hoping to setup a custom-convert.conf file to do this automatically on demand. Again any assistance in this matter is appreciated.
