Steal the neighbour's broadband? Tether to your phone?

In both cases it's a lot easier to "use the cloud".. :)

Unless you have access to another network connection (nearest cafe with
wifi?).

'Nmap' (https://nmap.org/) is the favourite tool of most vulnerability
testers.

ShieldsUp is useful for checking for open ports.

Wow, thanks again for pointing this out. At first I was going to say no
way, but then one small typo on a port forward range (missing a zero)
and I had a massively large range of ports open.

Also, I restored server.prefs from a backup 1 month ago and all is well
now again.

Thanks again everyone for the quick replies, this forum ROCKS!

Check again. I can access that port on the IP address from which you are

Thanks for the specific details and none of those ports are forwarded.

I will sign on with the /default switch, but it is still prompting for a
username / password. Is there any way to reset / remove the U/P without
starting with a fresh server.prefs file, so that I don't completely lose
my config?

I appreciate the tips, but I have no guest network and my wifi network
passwords are using WPA2 and unintelligible. I need to keep some ports
forwarding for other purposes, so is there an easy list of ports that
LMS uses?

LMS uses other ports too, none of your ports should be visible from the
outside world. Also check for guests on your WiFi..

Thanks for the reply and I verified that port 9000 is not being
forwarded, but I was wondering if they could mess with my LMS config or
Squeezeboxes by hacking mysqueezebox.com account? I'm pretty sure that I
remember you can manage alarms from there, can you also set LMS
password?

I'll keep digging, but thanks for your help.

First: turn off port forwarding on your router.
Second: shut down LMS, move the server.prefs to another place, start
again.

And don't open the port forwarding again. People are having fun messing
up your configuration. Others got woken up in the middle of the night.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Changed Language Over NIght

2017-02-19 Thread Stach

My LMS 9.0 server has been running flawless for months. We use our Boom
as an alarm clock on weekdays, but not on the weekends. However, this
morning the Boom woke us up at 5:45am which was strange. I tried to use
iPeng to see what happened, but I couldn't as I was prompted for a
username and password to access LMS (and I have never set one). Next, I
went to my Windows 10 Pro box which acts as a media server for my house
and was again prompted for a username and password to access the LMS
Control Panel. What makes this even more fun is that the password prompt
box, and now my Boom's, language is set to some Scandinavian appearing
language (screenshot attached).

Has anybody else experienced anything like this and what do I need to do
in order to clear the username/password prompt and set the default
language back to English???

Thanks in advance for your help!
Stach
