Whats your setup in the settings "own music" ? When you dont use album tags -> lms thinks there is a Sampler "kein Album" and all the artists are (if you told lms) stored under VA. Diverse Interpreten. But i dont know that (see my question above). Thank you but I'm quite happy with the fact that compilations get listed as such. Only when there is no compilation for files under Artists // Various Artists // grouping of all the rest of these files into one single compilation takes place. It is not necessarily singles. I have a lot of files which I just happen to have like that, I don't know where from etc. and these are not singles, presumably they're taken from an album but I don't know which. The problem might be with the fact that not all these files have Album Artist but I am used to programmes that just use Artist in this case. You could change some settings in My Music. Take a look at
'Compilations' and the filter on contributor role. See if that does the
trick for you.

Album Tag is for albums, it should not be filled in when there is none. Why can't it keep the original artwork and be gropued by artist when there is no album? Yapp - i would be very confused when all my Singles eg Poor Leno from Røyksopp would listed as the same "Album" - so always use at least - Artist - Title - Genre - Year Otherwise tools like random mix wouldn't work eather. What behaviour would you like to see? Why do you leave the Album tag
empty for singles? My interpretation of the Album tag is the name under
which the single/album is released. In case of a single, Album title and
