[squid-users] make distclean error in V3, 20050523 on debian sarge, x86
Hy all! why I try to make clean of squid source, it says, that's no target. Ok, I go into MAKEFILE and found distclean. However, distclean returns error on test-suite directory: rm -f *.lo rm -f Makefile test -z "" || rm -f rm -f libtool make[1]: Leaving directory `/data/shared/admshares/packages/squid-3.0-PRE3-20050523/icons' Making distclean in src make[1]: Entering directory `/data/shared/admshares/packages/squid-3.0-PRE3-20050523/src' Makefile:2356: ../test-suite/.deps/test_tools.Po: No such file or directory make[1]: *** No rule to make target `../test-suite/.deps/test_tools.Po'. If I change ./configure commands, and want to rebuild the whole squid completely, how to make it regenerate again the files and dirs? I started using it when the first PRE2 was out. I think it is much better than the SQUID 2 branch. I have no problems till I did a refresh last night. [squid-users] Downloads hangs at 50% on a transparent proxy, SQUID 3
Hy all! I'm using Squid 3 in a chroot environment, I always compile from source. I have a Debian Sarge 2.6.11.5 with grsecurity and reiser4 patches. And expected a strange behaviour of squid, used as a very simple transparent proxy, with almost no acls. Everything is ok, but. whenever I use a download manager, eg.: getright or flashGet, any file I try to download, hangs at 50% not regarding to it's size (a 600megs file hangs at 300, a 2 megs file hangs at 1meg). Has anyone met such a strange behaviour? -- Thomas Elias Title: System administrator, Programmer mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tel.: +3630/3299315 ICQ UIN: 206-714-459 Quote: "Too many people making too many problems (InFlames)"

[squid-users] mistyped compiler directives + new feature
Hy all! I have found the solutions for both of my problems... 1st: WARNING: Transparent proxying not supported I did mistype the compiler directive: --enable-nefilter instead of --enable-netfilter 2nd: replace policy not compiled in. I also misspelled the directive: --enably-policy=heap instead of --enable-policies=heap It migh save some days of useless hacking for unobservant system administrators if compiling process would halt if a compiler directive is unknown. -- Thomas Elias Title: System administrator, Programmer mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tel.: +3630/3299315 ICQ UIN: 206-714-459 Quote: "Too many people making too many problems (InFlames)"

[squid-users] squid3 pre3-20041102: WARNING: transparent proxying not supported (visolve not help)
Hy all! Again the weird trnasparent proxying problem. I revised all docs found on the net, but no solution yet. Debian SARGE system, with kernel 2.6.9, no patches. routing, and iptables enabled. squid compiled from source, with options: $CONFIGURE --with-dl --enable-default-err-language=Hungarian --enable-poll --enable-select --disable-http-violations --enable-linux-nefilter \ --disable-ident-lookups --enable-delay-pools --enable-gnuregex --sysconfdir=/etc/squid --prefix=/usr/local/squid --enable-underscores \ --enable-time-hack --with-samba-sources=/root/install/unpacked/samba-3.0.7 --enable-cache-digests --sysconfdir=/etc/squid --enable-storeio=ufs,diskd \ --disable-icp --enable-dl-malloc If not used with transparent proxying it just work fine... [squid-users] Proxy not caching and DEAD/REVIVED parent (and signal 6 error solved)
Hy all... I have a proxy server wich is finally ok now (by dling the 20040218 beta3 snapshot, the proxy not dying any more). It is 192.168.2.1. And there is an other proxy, wich is 192.168.2.2, both running transparently and oprating fine. Except that thingie, that the proxy on 192.168.2.2 is still not saving anything on the disk, however it forwards everithing correctly. It has a parent proxy defined (no other options), wich is: 192.168.2.1. In the cache.log I can see interesting things: 2004/02/18 18:28:35| Detected REVIVED Parent: 192.168.2.1 2004/02/18 18:30:26| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:32| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:32| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:32| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:32| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:33| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:33| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:33| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:33| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:33| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:36:33| Detected DEAD Parent: 192.168.2.1 2004/02/18 18:36:34| Failed to select source for 'http://freemail.hu/fm/send_fo$ 2004/02/18 18:36:34| always_direct = 0 2004/02/18 18:36:34|never_direct = 1 2004/02/18 18:36:34|timedout = 0 2004/02/18 18:36:40| Failed to select source for 'http://www.google.co.hu/url?s$ 2004/02/18 18:36:40| always_direct = 0 2004/02/18 18:36:40|never_direct = 1 2004/02/18 18:36:40|timedout = 0 2004/02/18 18:36:40| Detected REVIVED Parent: 192.168.2.1 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:02| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed 2004/02/18 18:42:04| Failed to select source for 'http://www.hatterkepek.hu/ind$ 2004/02/18 18:42:04| always_direct = 0 2004/02/18 18:42:04|never_direct = 1 2004/02/18 18:42:04|timedout = 0 2004/02/18 18:42:05| Detected REVIVED Parent: 192.168.2.1 2004/02/18 18:50:51| TCP connection to 192.168.2.1/3113 failed and so on... [squid-users] problem with beta3 release february 16th.
Hy. I've downloaded and recompiled my squid (originating from early january) with the version in the subject. Since then the proxy is shutting down itself after a small time of correct operations. Sometimes with signal 11, but this time it received a signal 6 (abort) wihich I can't imagine. I haven't aborted it, so who does? Here is my cache.log, might help: Feb 16 22:31:53 localhost squid[11253]: Starting Squid Cache version 3.0-PRE3- 20040216 for i686-pc-linux-gnu... [squid-users] Squid parent: child process XXX exited due to signal 11
Hy all. After some hours of continous work I see the above message in the messages log, and squid dissapears from process list. The system is a debian woody, and the squid id the latest non-cvs beta, compiled from source. What can cause the above message? Thx! -- Thomas Elias Tel.: +3630/3299315 ICQ UIN: 206-714-459 -
[squid-users] child squid proxy not saving data on disk, but anyway operating correctly.
Hy all! I have an ordinary transparent squid proxy defined on my gateway, wich operates correctly. An other transparent proxy has been set up on the other part of the network, wich has the proxy on the gateway as a parent defined. cache_peer parentproxy.net 3113 3030 No other options (like proxy-only) defined. OS is a Linux woody, squid is beta3 from 17th january. Interesting, the proxy wich has the parent defined do not save anything in it's cache, although it seems operating correctly, so there are FIRST_PARENT_MISSes and other lines in the log, indicating the data has been sent through. My firewall is operating correctly, by redirecting packages from port 80 to my proxy port 3113. When the child proxy is going direct (on queries containing ? or cgi-bin) it is accessing the port 80 of the parent proxy, wich is transparent, so redirects the query again. Has anyone idea why the child proxy is not saving anything on the disk? -- Thomas Elias Tel.: +3630/3299315 ICQ UIN: 206-714-459 - - Vége a továbbított üzenetnek - -- Thomas Elias Tel.: +3630/3299315 ICQ UIN: 206-714-459 -
