Re: Question - how many of us?
That will be a fun chart below to watch when final 1.1 gets released. Also, some people might like this chart, showing Apache vs MS: http://news.netcraft.com/archives/2003/06/12/june_2003_web_server_survey.html Adam Hardy wrote: Not all of those hits are downloads, since every access to any page in the online documentation counts :-). The Struts download counts still strike me as really high (about 10x higher than the last time I counted manually, which was late in 2002, when we were getting 8,000/month instead of 80,000/month), although the corresponding Tomcat download counts look like what they have historically been (100k per month or so). RE: Question - how many of us?
I might be just me but if we have to count the number of people using this technology then there just might not be enough people using it. I am fighting the .Net vs. Java war and the JSP/Struts combo is at a disadvantage. We need development tools that will make it as easy to build in (JSP/Struts/JSF?) as it is in .Net. The java based platform is more robust but most applications do not require that additional robustness. Let's level the playing field, take on .Net on its own terms, ease of development. So ends the rant of the day.
