[freenet-support] Re: What to do after switching ISP
Well, I've had my DynDNS address before... but didn't use it with Freenet. So all I would have to do was put this DynDNS address in "ipAddres=" instead of putting my external IP there? If so - if I do this now, will the whole node have to start from scratch again? Yes, I'm behind a NAT router/firewall...

The nodes that know your IP will still be using it, but slowly forgetting it, recognising the new dyndns address (that's what was going on with me). When your IP changes, you just change the dyndns entry, nodes will not see any change. Only nodes which up until that time didn't mannage to catch up with the news will be affected. [freenet-support] What to do after switching ISP
Sadly not. Your node is not considered a new one, but if either you or your peers are behind a NAT, an IP address change can be rather traumatic... I suggest you get a dyndns.org address to minimize future problems... On Fri, Apr 14, 2006 at 11:13:10PM +0200, Level 13 wrote: > I just switched my ISP, hence I have a new IP now.
