Unless you see it being done here:

... then I have no clue.

This appears to be a bug. Congrats!

I'll take a look. Thanks for the heads up.

Hows the optional interfaces and the ability to assign use an IP
address in the VOIP screen working out (besides for the obvious oops
that I made 6 months ago)?

The IP feature is nice. I didn't use the OPT interface since I don't
really care about the bittorrent crap except insofar as it hoses the VOIP :)

Upgrade for embedded builds are not working yet. The available mini updates
only upgrade webgui files.
atm you still have to reflash.

[pfSense Support] Problems with upgrading BETA version

2006-01-22 Thread Anders D. Hansen

Hi list,

Pfsense 1.0 Beta built on Mon Dec 26 03:23:52 UTC 2005 embedded
(Soekris).

When I try to upgrade the firewall it seems that pfsense receives the
file but fails to rewrite flash and reboot.

Is this a problem in the version I'm runnning so I need to reflash?

One more thing:
The 'access NAT'ed devices via public IP' fix - in what release is
this incorporated?

Thank you!

Anders

Thats really a nice jump!

I wonder how many others are bit by this. Also, can you ellaborate
on you're changes from the wizard for anyone else to try? IE:
changing rules for voips, etc.

All I did was take my real up&downstream and subtract 20% (more like
25% to be safe...) Probably a lot of folks...

[pfSense Support] /var fills up

2006-01-22 Thread Anders D. Hansen

Hi list,

Pfsense 1.0 Beta embedded(Soekris).

I have setup a syslogd server to receive messages from my firewall
and disabled logging to local disk but still /var fills up.

I can tell that the file /var/log/pflog is the one being filled...

Is this normal behavior or a bug which I shuld be concerned of?

Thank you very much.

Anders

I have upgraded to Pfsense Beta 1 version but still Freebsd is only Beta
5.

Answered this one yesterday. Eliminate all traces of the old kernel. The
new kernel boots from a compressed image, but the old one is found first.

rm `find . \! -newer kernel.gz | grep -v kernel.gz` in /boot/kernel
