Re: [pfSense Support] PFsense wan hangs up after 10min
Hi, 1) Static 77.xxx.xxx.74 /30 2) nothing logs 3) UP, everything is fine 4) Intel both (lan and wan) Everything is working working... and boom suddenly internet is down, wan interface is working. Cant ping from it anything. There are no errors... (dns 192 internal. could it be of this? i guess not, but who knows maybe somehow...) When down, what happens if you successively issue following commands from {ipaddress}/exec.php ifconfig em0 down ifconfig em0 up where em0 is your WAN NIC assignment Kind regards David Hingston - Original Message - From: Arvydas Brazenas [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: support@pfsense.com Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2008 6:48 PM Subject: Re: [pfSense Support] PFsense wan hangs up after 10min Hi, 1) Static 77.xxx.xxx.74 /30 2) nothing logs 3) UP, everything is fine 4) Intel both (lan and wan) Everything is working working... and boom suddenly internet is down, wan interface is working. [pfSense Support] A way to monitor incoming PPTP connections
Is there somewhere a nicer way to view incoming PPTP connections, than to manually view in the System Logs ? I'd like somekind of interface like IPSEC Status... Kind regards, Michel - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Optionvalues are NOT correct in my real setup. Should have removed them. I just tried to point out what options I was playing with. No, no trafficshaper used in my setup. Interference is very unlikely, apart from a channel 11 WLAN nothing emits (have not yet used a spectrometer) in my neighborhood. (Am using channel 1). Gonna try and switch to 5GHz just to see if it improves. As for athstats, it's only semi useful as the rx buffer overrun seams to creep up to many of the pfsene/embedded/atheros users. Thanks for the input, it always helps. Are you by any chance running the traffic shaper on the atheros interface? If yes, disabling it does help anyhow? It could also be interference, and potentially other things as well. Run athstats at a command prompt or the command page and you may get some helpful info. My trusty old pre-1.0 pfSense AP always shows tens of thousands of errors on the ath interface but it works fine. It's one of those things I want to look at closer eventually, but I don't have any problems with it, so it hasn't been a priority. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[pfSense Support] secondary or virtual IP's
Hello, Having slight problem with a 1.2 version of the firewall. We have a working configuration using an openroute GT900 (don't go there...I know its old.). with an outside client who insists on assigning us a 10.nnn.nnn.nnn network for use with an IPSec tunnel. We're already have 10.0.1.0/24. set up. rl0 - 10.0.1.2 de0 - (WAN IP Address) Currently I have an IP address assigned to the LAN interface and all is good. I assigned the virtual IP of 10.201.8.115/28 to the network. (the gateway address (10.201.8.113) is currently in use, I'm only testing here.). I have a virtual machine set up on this lan, and it can ping the current gateway. However, it cannot ping the .115 address that is on this interface from either the current gateway (.113) or the virtual machine (.114). Is there something I need to do to make this work or do I need a 3rd interface?
