One of our developers is seeing this too now, though I haven't and
this list post is the only Google hit on that error message (don't you
hate seeing that...). Not sure of the issue yet, we're looking at it.

Thanks

The reason why they don't work together as I read more than a year
ago(FreeBSD forums) is that FreeBSD assigns the same IRQ to both NICS
limiting to act if it was only one, and it could be the 3C905B or the 3C905C
depending which came online on the first place, within the boot process, it
was odd and I couldn't belive it, but it was so true.

Back then I had 5 NICs(3 3C905B-TX, 2 3C905C-TX) which only two(3C905C)
could be seen on the assign screen.
I tested them with a standalone FreeBSD 6.2 install obtaining the same
result.

Many thanks for that Victor, I've now tried it with 2 3C905C and it works
fine so I'll stick with the combinations you've described.

I had that issue with a Dell Optiplex GX110 (Pentium II & III) and 3C905B-TX
and 3C905C-TX doesn't work together, only 2 3C905C-TX NICs(one integrated
and one PCI, or two PCI) will work fine in Pfsense 1.x.x

Right now I'm using one Intel 10/100, one Intel gigabit and one
3C905C-TX(integrated) on that Dell Optiplex.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Chris. I've now tried 1.2.3 RC1 and it has the same issue as with
1.2.2.

Sounds like a driver issue of some sort, trying 1.2.3 which has a
newer FreeBSD base may make it work.
