[pfSense Support] Add ports into an applicance
Hi, I'm trying to create a pfSense appliance with pre-installed FreeBSD ports like Django. I don't find the equivalent of custom_package_list for the ports. So I have tried to add some ports into a personalized PFSPORTSFILE file. I copy buildports.RELENG_2_0 into my appliance and add the following line into the PORTSTOBUILD variable : python26/usr/ports/lang/python26 /usr/local/bin/python2.6 Unfortunately I have the following error during the ISO build (look my pfsense-build.conf underneath) : Installing custom packages to: /usr/local/pfsense-fs ... cp: /usr/local/pfsense-fs/usr/local/lib/php.ini: No such file or directory Installing custom pfSense-XML packages inside chroot ... PHP Fatal error: Unable to start pfSense module in Unknown on line 0 PHP Fatal error: Unable to start pfSense module in Unknown on line 0 It's strange because I have this file : -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 515 Dec 19 20:47 /usr/local/pfsense- fs/usr/local/lib/php.ini What is the best way to add installed FreeBSD ports into my iso ? [pfSense Support] FAQ item request: Do I need to know how to use a shell to use PFSense?
I'm annoyed by the recurrence of posts like this: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25224935- I see the Linux myth is debunked in the FAQ, but is there something substantial that I can link to that states or demonstrates that pfsense is adequately administered from the UI for most non-dev users? db - To unsubscribe, e-mail: support-unsubscr...@pfsense.com For additional commands, e-mail: support-h...@pfsense.com Commercial support available - https://portal.pfsense.org
[pfSense Support] pfSense 2.0 BETA4 : IPv6?
Hi there, I have update my gateway from m0n0wall to pfSense 2.0 BETA4 to make a better and faster gateway (moved from a wrap to a amd 4020e)... But I have saw that Beta 2.0 should have IPv6 support but no luck I didn't found it... Cheers and happy xmas. Re: [pfSense Support] FAQ item request: Do I need to know how to use a shell to use PFSense?
I have blocked myself out and the only way was to console in and use shell to do pfctl -d to turn off firewallSHELL for pfSense is not scary but it is a MUST to know when you need that quick access. However, I don't think of anything that would require you to know any shell commands to get pfSense running with the new images the router comes pre-setup with the LAN ports assigned 192.168.1.0/24. -Bruce On Mon, Dec 20, 2010 at 12:03 PM, David Burgess apt@gmail.com wrote: I'm annoyed by the recurrence of posts like this: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25224935- I see the Linux myth is debunked in the FAQ, but is there something substantial that I can link to that states or demonstrates that pfsense is adequately administered from the UI for most non-dev users? db - To unsubscribe, e-mail: support-unsubscr...@pfsense.com For additional commands, e-mail: support-h...@pfsense.com Commercial support available - https://portal.pfsense.org
RE: [pfSense Support] pfSense 2.0 BETA4 : IPv6?
IPv6 support does not get in pfSense till v2.1 pfSense itself does not offer support (yet), the underlying OS (FreeBSD 7.2 in my case) does :) - I managed to get an IPv6 tunnel working in pfSense 1.2.3, while the clients hooked up to my network can use that tunnel. There is a post in the forum, to my git branch and instructions for support on 2.0 BETA http://iserv.nl/files/pfsense/ipv6/ I'm currently using it in production on a carp cluster and appears to work fine for basic firewalling. That's just telling you it's not one of the official URLs, just tell it yes. after that, it asks if I want to sync with master which doesn’t do anything. - Or alternatively you may enter a custom RCS branch URL (HTTP). http://gitweb.pfsense.org/pfsense/pfSense-smos.git NOTE: http://gitweb.pfsense.org/pfsense/pfSense-smos.git was not found.
