Hi ! Hmmm, any chance to get this working without installing samba on the firewall-system ? And which squid-version did you use ? the package-provided or 3.x ? Re: [pfSense Support] To integrate AD users to specific rule groups
Hi No you can't make it work without installing samba on pfSense(terminal), you need to connect to the AD un add your machine to it, to recuperate users. Squid 2.7.9_4.1 provided with pfSense ( the Squid3 like I sead has a problem to install it, it seem's that the links are dead). Re: [pfSense Support] To integrate AD users to specific rule groups
Martin, There is another SQUID plugin which authenticates thru LDAP directly but if forces the user input login and password thru the browser every first access to the web. NTLM+Samba uses AD login and doesn't force the user input login and pass again when passing thru the firewall. isamar 2011/8/1 Fuchs, Martin martin.fu...@trendchiller.com Hi ! ** ** Hmmm, any chance to get this working without installing samba on the firewall-system ? [pfSense Support] install headaches
Hi, I'm trying to install 1.2.3 or 2.0rc3 (tried both) from dvd onto a HD, in both cases it all appears to install fine but when I attempt to boot from the HD it fails without touching the keyboard the 2.0 says: (1.2.3 is similiar) error 1 lba 378986767 No /boot/loader and then goes back to the boot: prompt -- Nick Upson (01799 533252)

Wait, you see a / symbol? Which version of pfSense did you install? If it's the embedded version, then the / is correct, the only way to access the console is by using a null-modem cable and hyperterminal (if you use Windows) on another computer. Then you use the other computer to see the output that's usually on the screen and you can access the menu pfSense shows when booted up. _ Van: Nick Upson [mailto:n...@telensa.com] Verzonden: maandag 1 augustus 2011 14:19 Aan: support@pfsense.com Onderwerp: Re: [pfSense Support] install headaches On 1 August 2011 13:06, Bart Grefte b...@ravenslair.nl wrote: Is there a security setting enabled in the BIOS that might prevent installing the bootloader on the HDD? good idea but no in addition I can get to point where it would boot and it just sits there with a / sysbol in the fist char position on the bottom line. [pfSense Support] Dual WAN with cable modem (dhcp) and ADSL (pppoe) with static IP (and IPv6)
I'm running a pfSense 2.0RC3 (with 4 physical NICs) at home with cable modem on WAN assigned by DHCP. Works well -- unless it's down. I'm thinking about adding an ADSL line and run dual-WAN for redundancy and load-leveling. The ADSL is PPPoE with static IP but also offers IPv6 (local provider MNet). Latter appears to require some modifications http://carsten.schoene.cc/2011/03/natives-ipv6-auf-einem-m-net-dsl-anschluss/ (ppp, pppoe, wide-dhcpv6, radvd, etc.). 1) Will pfSense be able to handle the simple case (dual-WAN with load-leveling, one interface DHCP, another PPPOE)? 2) Any chances with getting IPv6 with ADSL working, given above complications? -- Eugen* Leitl a href=http://leitl.org;leitl/a http://leitl.org __ ICBM: 48.07100, 11.36820 http://www.ativel.com http://postbiota.org 8B29F6BE: 099D 78BA 2FD3 B014 B08A 7779 75B0 2443 8B29 F6BE - To unsubscribe, e-mail: support-unsubscr...@pfsense.com For additional commands, e-mail: support-h...@pfsense.com Commercial support available - https://portal.pfsense.org
[pfSense Support] Linking 2 Building without VPN
Hello, I have 2 building each with multiple networks. They are currently joined via an IPSec VPN. Building A is 10.0.0.0/24 and 10.0.1.0/24 And Building B is 10.0.2.0/24 and 10.0.3.0/24 Right now I have a 10 Mb/s link to the internet in building A and a 100 Mb/s link in building B so I have an IPSec vpn tying 10.0.0.0 to 10.0.2.0 and 10.0.3.0 and the same for 10.0.1.0 Now I have just been provided a 20 Mb/s dedicated patch cable between the two buildings (this wire has no services on it but is essential a 30 KM patch cable). What is the best way to utilize this new Patch Cable to take the place of my current IPSec VPN links? If need be I can add interfaces to the 2 pfSense boxes or just make configuration changes. Thanks.
