[pfSense Support] virtio driver for pfSense 2.0 RC3

2011-08-11 Thread Alberto Mijares
Hi,

I read this thread

http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=34911.0

and it's not clear for me if the virtio driver has been included in
snapshots. Is it?

In case that it is not, could anyone point me to a download URL for it
(x_64)? I don't know how to use rapidshare.

Thank you very much.

Regards

Re: [pfSense Support] init process... starting non-pfsense package

 See http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Installing_FreeBSD_Packages (I
just added some additional info there to answer your questions if
you've already read that page previously).

Great!! Thank you, Chris...

[pfSense Support] init process... starting non-pfsense package

2011-06-28 Thread Alberto Mijares
Hi,

as you may guess, I need to start a package I just installed with

# pkg_add -r

and if I try to start it, it doesn't (start, onestart, CLI, web
interface... nothing works). I cannot write a rc.conf either.

I've been searchind documentation about it and can't find something useful.

Thanks in advance

Re: [pfSense Support] DHCP Server with virtual IP (subnets)

2011-05-25 Thread Alberto Mijares

DHCP server only supports the primary subnet, no way to do that
 without hacking the source.

Ok. I guess you mean through webConfigurator.

If I modify /var/dhcpd/etc/dhcpd.conf, could achieve my goal? May I
write a script and hook it with services_dhcp.php to do this?

Thank you again.

[pfSense Support] DHCP Server with virtual IP (subnets)

2011-05-24 Thread Alberto Mijares
Hi,

I'm trying to include static IP's in DHCP server.

LAN interface has IP 10.10.0.1/24

I added an IP alias for the interface with 10.10.1.1/24, so I include
the MAC address of a host for 10.10.1.2

It doesn't like this. How could I do this? And, of course, I should
especify the router address too (10.10.1.1, not the natural interfaces
IP)

Thank you.

Are you sure?

Squid can not store in cache the content from https traffic; however,
you are still able to create ACL's to control the access to this
URI's.

Check out your ACL.

Delay Pools + ACL's on squid side or domain based traffic shapping on
pfsense, perhaps?

[pfSense Support] Hardware for WAN interface - Frame Relay

2011-01-22 Thread Alberto Mijares
Greetings,

I need a router with a V.35 interface for my frame relay link. I found
that ctau(4) driver in FreeBSD 8.x may handle this PCI card[1], so my
question is: does pfSense 2.x support this card and may be used as
WAN interface? I think so, since pfSense 2.x is based on FreeBSD 8.1
and keeps all driver, isn't it?

Anybody using this card as WAN interface?

I need the hardware provider too, by the way.

Thanks in advance.

You can try grab the module from a standard freebsd iso and load it in
 pfSense.
You will have to grab even sconfig utitlity for this and is not
 supported from the GUI.

Than you can go and do some test on the PPP page for it.

What you say is I must configure the channel parameters from the CLI
(with sconfig) and then configure the WAN interface (cp0 in this case)
as a PPP link from the GUI. Is that correct?

In this case I must manually edit rc.conf for the channel settings at
startup, rigth?

I need to know if it is going to work because we don't have much money
for spending in tests. Has anyone done this before? Should I take
another box with FreeBSD 8.X or Linux as a router? A low cost router
with V.35 interface perhaps? Any suggestion?

Thanks for your help.
