No. It doesn't allow the network server option.

Are we looking at the same 6 b?

b) Convey the object code in, or embodied in, a physical product
(including a physical distribution medium), accompanied by a written
offer, valid for at least three years and valid for as long as you
offer spare parts or customer support for that product model, to give
anyone who possesses the object code either (1) a copy of the
Corresponding Source for all the software in the product that is
covered by this License, on a durable physical medium customarily used
for software interchange, for a price no more than your reasonable
cost of physically performing this conveying of source, or (2) access
to copy the Corresponding Source from a network server at no charge.

I really feel like part (2) states that it's ok to just give people
access to the source on a network server. Or am I misreading this?

I was looking at the version you posted. The version you included this
time is different and is closer to the GPLV2.

message splitter

2009-08-03 Thread mikael
hi,

i've had an old install of Pidgin for a while, and used message splitter
plugin because i need it. but i'm on a new machine and I can't find the
plugin anywhere to download. I saw in some links that it was supposed to be
included with Pidgin, but I don't see it. and I got the Purple Plugin Pack
but don't see it either. So is this plugin still around? is there another
way to automatically split long messages?

thanks

I'm on 2.5.8 on XP Pro. I'm in USA.

The message I get is Unable to send message: The message is too large.

Seems to me like there is a limit on number of characters. But where do I
change it?

Which service?
Which version of Pidgin?
Which version of any relevant plugin?
Which versions of these worked?
Which OS?
Which version of that OS?
When did it last work (the service may have changed)?
Which country are you in (there may be differences between countries for
the same service)?
What is the exact text of the message?
What do you get when you enable the Pidgin debug log?

There certainly will be such a limit, imposed by the service, which you
still haven't identified. In the likely event it is imposed by the
service, you won't be able to change it. If it is imposed by Pidgin, it
will probably require a source code change.
