Re: Account *** not enabled, not connecting
Hi, Using the following values solved my problem: name = nullclient version = 0.1 website = N/A dev_website = N/A debug_enabled=True default_path=prefs Thanks for your help, Lukas On Mon, Aug 9, 2010 at 6:13 PM, Daniel Atallah datal...@pidgin.im wrote: On Mon, Aug 9, 2010 at 12:10, Lukas Rist glas...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, seems to be related to the values I use for the Purple() constructor as you assumed. Are there any mandatory values required by libpurple? The idea behind that value is that libpurple clients can share the same configuration directory, so certain accounts may be only enabled for certain UIs. So, you should use a value that is unique to your client for that value. -D ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Use this link: http://pidgin.im/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support
Re: cant connect to Yahoo with pidgin 2.7.3

I tested connection with original Yahoo messi, what works fine. I installed pidgin 2.7.1 again, now I can connect to Yahoo with that version of pidgin again. May be someone could check what is wrong in 2.7.3 regarding Yahoo connectivity. There is nothing wrong with Pidgin 2.7.3 with respect to Yahoo connections. You are probably on a network with a proxy server. If you upgrade to 2.7.3 again and edit your account, you'll find a checkbox on the Advanced tab labeled Use account proxy for HTTP and HTTPS connections; try checking/unchecking it (if it's checked, uncheck it; if it's unchecked, check it). Pidgin IM Forwarding
I started looking but haven't found anything yet. Is there a plugin to forward missed IM's to email? If I step out of the office and someone IM's me I'd like to have the ability to forward that to my email. Since I have push email I could get notified in a timely manor instead of coming back to finding IM's that I've missed. Or even if there's another means like forwarding to another IM account etc. Thanks, -j ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Re: XMPP Stream Header Missing

Relevant Settings Resource: meebo.org ; Use SSL: Check ; Force old SSL: Check ; port: 443 ; connection server: xmpp.meebo.org (or meebo.com) But a connection cannot be established. XMPP Stream Header Missing it says instead. That's happening because your settings are incorrect--you're actually connecting to a web server. Force old SSL should not be checked, port should be 5222, and connection server should be empty. The resource is not is not really used to determine where or how to connect, and so it does not need to be meebo.org. And for the time being you'll need to uncheck Require SSL/TLS and check Allow plaintext auth over unencrypted streams. This is an unfortunate situation that will hopefully be fixed soon... For the time being I recommend not connecting from a network that you don't trust (i.e. if you're on wireless anywhere). --Mark ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Pidgin Icon
Hello, I was wondering if you could shed some light on a status Icon I've never seen before in Pidgin, it's this little padlock looking icon under one of my friends in the buddy list, do you happen to know what that icon signifies. a couple of problems
I am running Pidgin on a Ubuntu 10.4 computer and I have 2 problems *Facebook account setup *Email Sound Notification I know I've seen other people setup Facebook chat with pidgin so I know it's possible, but Facebook is not in the drop down menu when I try to set up a new account, so what do you I do? I would really like to have both MSN and Facebook integrated in one place. and the Email Sound notification, I was using aMSN before and it did this by default and so does the windows MSN. I really miss this and would really want to have it if I am to continue using Pidgin. And if I can somehow make it connect with my Gmail account and notify me of emails there that would be awesome. I don't use any version of Google chat though so I don't know how that easy that would be. I have grown tired of aMSN's ugly look and choppy UI and have never figured out how to get Evolution to work properly and also want to have only one program for everything, so I really want to make this work. Thank you for any help you can give, God bless, Daniel ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Use this link: http://pidgin.im/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support
