Re: Facebook - Pidgin unreliable ever since recent facebook chat changes.
Is it even a good idea to run pidgin on multiple machines logged into the same facebook account at the same time? Not only am I seeing data missing from one machine or the other but also it seems to be very confused as to if people are online or offline. The system that i was complaining about that was missing data, shows my buddy as being offline and he has been for 6 hours. Facebook and my mobile devices also agree that he is offline. Yet the other system that wasn't missing the data, still thinks he is not only ONline but also not idle. Also, I discovered that the two machines ARE NOT running the same versions. Version 2.9.0 is missing the data occasionally yet accurately reports when the person is on/off line. Version 2.7.7 Doesn't miss any data but inaccurately reports hen the person is on/off line. Facebook - Pidgin unreliable ever since recent facebook chat changes.
Not all chat transmissions come thru to pidgin from Facebook. When in chat, if I open up both the facebook web page and use pidgin to chat. I see some responses coming back from the other person on the facebook web chat that never show up on pidgin. I have done the same using mobile applications such as facebook for iphone, and friendly for ipad. These apps do get everything as does the facebook web page chat. Only pidgin misses incoming chat lines. The severity is about 1 line out of every 5 that is missing. ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
