Re: Large number of files to be removed upon addon install

2016-02-02 Thread Adrien Rivard
64 bit.

AFAIK none of these package should be removed and none are related to
pdigin installation.

Imo you either misconfigured your repositories when adding the pidgin one,
either you had a problem before.

I'm not sure to follow, which files are you talking about ?

If those are some ubuntu packages, I just installed purple-facebook and
none where removed. (on Xubuntu 14.04).
I did not notice any removed files anyway.

Large number of files to be removed upon addon install

2016-02-02 Thread Wade Smart
Because of a bad update file in a recent ubuntu update, I have had
to reinstall my os. It was 32bit before but now Ive gone 64. Im
installing purple-facebook and the number of files to be removed
around well over hundred.

Can anyone using Ubuntu 14 or 15 running 64bit verify this?

Supporting Oracle

2016-02-02 Thread Ethan Blanton
All,

By way of the contacts of a retired Pidginer, I was able to get a link
for Oracle support of IM (or something like that, I don't know, it
can't be loaded except from within the Oracle machine). It is:

http://my.oracle.com/site/git/1591/index.htm

We should pass this to Oracle support requests along with a reminder
that they must be logged into the Oracle VPN to load it.

Laura Kaye spake unto us the following wisdom:

Contact Oracle technical support. This is a peer-support mailing list
for the Pidgin client. We cannot help you with your internal support
problems.

Ok... I see this:

Your account is disabled.
You probably have a login issue: username and/or password.
You'll need to check with Oracle support for this. This list is
just for the use of the app itself.

Problem with Pidgin

2016-02-02 Thread Shawn

Hello,

I have the most current version of pidgin and ever since I upgraded to
it there is a delay when I press send on my messages. It delays for
about 3-5 seconds then it will send it. Also when a message comes in
the notification sound is also delayed.

Thank you
