Yes, I'm having the same issue (2.7 or Windows 7) and it's a nightmare for me. I've missed quite a bit as a result. Never wanted to leave Pidgin till now... hope this changes fast. I had to rollback as well, for the same reason. You can get the previous version here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pidgin/files/Pidgin/2.6.6/pidgin-2.6.6-win32 -bin.zip/download. Just unzip and copy to the Program Files-Pidgin Directory, overwriting as necessary.
