No, because it isn't a pidgin account, it is an account on Oracle's, we
guess but don't, XMPP server.

We are advised that people within the Oracle network can use
 for more information; for
outsiders, like us, it just redirects to the public home page.

Please explain to the Oracle person dealing with your problem, why you

This is probably because of an issue in Oracle's internal network.
Oracle employees very often make the mistake of contacting us thinking
we can help. You'll have to ask Oracle IT support.

Does any company documentation suggest that you contact us when Pidgin
isn't working?

You should not have mentioned your password on this list because it is publicly
archived in several places, and there are other subscribers. Otherwise, it is
possible that someone cracked your account and changed the password, and
perhaps you can restore it on the AIM site using your E-mail address.

Otherwise, we are just the support group for Pidgin, which is a client that is
not affiliated with AIM or any other service, and you'll need to contact the
service provider.

Jerry,

This mailing list is unable to unlock accounts.

For troubleshooting:

Please go to the Yahoo account properties of Pidgin and uncheck the "Save
password" box.

Next, sign into Yahoo using their website.

Last, try signing into Yahoo from Pidgin again.

If this does not work, you may want to try Pidgin on a different computer,
or use Yahoo Messenger to resolve the locked account issue.

You don't have a Pidgin account, you have an account on the IM service
that you access via Pidgin (which is a multi-protocol IM client
program). You need to access the IM service's own web site and use your
credentials to change the password there.

Pidgin doesn't have accounts; it simply provides access to accounts with
instant messaging services. You need to contact the specific instant
messaging service.

You may find that they will only support you if you use their standard
client.

Have you tried contacting the people who run the service ? It is much
more likely to be a problem with them, rather than Pidgin. If it is a
Pidgin problem, you will need to provide the exact text of the error
message, and the contents of the debug window (after minimally obscuring
sensitive information).

What protocol do ichat use?

Pidgin does not provide any service, that is handled by whoever you are

You need to deal with them rather than ask here, we cannot help you

Unfortunately, I still can't give you a definitive answer.

I suspect that it is either a problem with your code of the python bindings.

Accounts are enabled within the context of a specific "UI" - the
python bindings you're using remove that from the external API and
attempt to manage that UI identifier transparently based on the
"ui_name" specified to the Purple() constructor. If you're not
specifying a value for that (server_settings_list["name"] in your
code), I wouldn't be suprised to see problems.

Otherwise, you're going to have to get creative with gdb to figure out
what is going wrong.

It's hard to tell where the problem is without additional information.

It could be a problem in your code, the python wrapper or in libpurple itself.

A libpurple debug log, along with your code is going to be necessary

I guess there are two things you can be do:
- Check what is causing the crashings and passing it to the devs. Even
it's a bit hard to understand on Windows, applications uselly don't
crash ;)
- Save you accounts.xml from purple configurations directory.
