I know of no regular contributor to this mailing list who has access to 
Oracle's internal XMPP servers.  You need to find the appropriate Oracle 
IT internal support person.

It's never possible to log in to Pidgin, as Pidgin is a just a client 
that sends log in requests to a server.  The server belongs to your 
company, not to anyone associated with this public mailing list, or the 
pidgin software.  We can only guess what it is, and have absolutely no 
control over it.


Standard response to the Oracle users whose misdirected problem reports 
accounts for about 50% of the traffic on this list:

Cannot Login to Pidgin after changing Passwords

As required by corporate policy, I changed my passwords on Friday and today, all 
my applications work except Pidgin. I am clearly having a login problem and it 
will not accept my old nor my new password. I have tried many things many times 
over the past 1 1/2 hour, including deleting my account and recreating it, but 
nothing works.


Any Suggestions?

Please do not go off list.  Pidgin does not support Office Communicator 
without the use of third party plugins.  You appear to have a third 
party plugin.  You should use the support channel that is provided for 
that plugin.

The last message was from someone who doesn't understand how to use 
mailing lists and has got stuck on the list as a result.  She needs to 
go to <https://pidgin.im/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support> and fill in 
the box before the button that says "unsubscribe or edit options".


Regarding the original question, you cannot log on to Pidgin.  What you 
are failing to log onto is Office Communicator.


Office Communicator support appears to be provided by a third party 
plugin, so you need to contact the maintainers of that plugin directly 
as this list doesn't cover third party plugins.  There seems to be more 
than one, so I don't know which you are using.


NTLM authentication is one of the authentication schemes used by 
Microsoft software.  It is possible that the server you are using does 
not support that and requires MS Kerberos.  I don't know if the plugin 
you are using supports that.

It's impossible to log in to Pidgin.  Pidgin isn't a server.  It is 
probably possible to log in to Oracle's internal IM (XMPP?) server, but 
you need to ask Oracle's IT department about that, as the people who use 
and maintain the open source client software have no knowledge of and no 
control over Oracle's internal systems.


Please explain to them why you were misled into asking on this, public, 
peer support mailing list.  Point out that the repeated such mistakes by 
Oracle employees are not good for its public image.  And, if possible, 
suggest how they could avoid it happening in future.

ubuntu log out suddenly when login to pidgin

Hi,
I'm using Pidgin 2.6.6 in Ubuntu 9.10. I set up new account for my yahoo id
and it works fine. but sometimes, when I try to login to pidgin, Ubuntu
suddenly log out and display login window. this is weird. I have no idea why
this could happen. could you please help me? thank you.
