this isn't a message from SM but rather from the sending server. And
the message only tells you which address, in this case
u...@baddomain.com, is bad, cause there is no such domain as
 baddomain.com.

Actually, there are two communications happening here. First, is SeaMonkey
talking to your configured SMTP server. That server will "accept" your e-mail
and promises to delivery it "later" (if possible). SeaMonkey will tell you
about any problems which occur during that communication (but that's not
what is going wrong in this case).

The error you're referencing above, however, happens during the second part
of the transaction - when the mail server attempts to deliver the message
to the target mail server. When that has problems, it's up to the target
mail server (and in some cases, you're mail server) to send an "error"
e-mail message back to you. Some will, some won't (and it depends on the
error as well).

In the case you're talking about, SeaMonkey is not involved at all, so there
is nothing SeaMonkey can do to get you that error information.

If you send an e-mail with a bad e-mail address and don't get a "bounce"
message back reporting the error, you should talk to your SMTP provider
(the administrator of the SMTP server your SeaMonkey client is talking
to) and ask them to look into it.

Does that help?

It's a little late, but I would have suggested that you use a whole separate
profile for her. Then create a seamonkey icon for her on the desktop which
forces use of "her" profile. I can't tell you exactly how to do that in Windows,
only that it can be done, and then she could have here own copy.

You also should not have used a filer, having a 2nd account to pull only her
mail would have been better.

Bruno, not withstanding what Bill has said, can you give us a bit of
detail about what you were doing at the time that you lost the bulk of
your bookmarks??

Hi, I do agree with what Bill has said; Sometimes we just cause ourselves
to suffer unnecessary aggravations for reasons that are not always clear
;-(.

Thank you for that reminder. While I do have recent complete backups of
everything I have, and I do moderately often put my bookmarks in a file for easy
recovery, I checked and my export of my address books was months old. While I
could recover the data from the "save everything" backup, it certainly isn't
painless to do so. Therefore I backed up each of my address books in both ldif
and tab-separated format, for easy use in any of several ways.

Also, my bookmarks may not have been that important to keep. Here is what
I was doing: I was trying to do what Bill had suggested but before
making a

backup I successfully sorted my bookmarks then, trying to make that backup
file, whoops, everything was gone without me realizing what really
happened.

When I looked at bookmarks again I realized that I had lost most of them
except 10 of them..

Thank you both for trying to be helpful, but I think we might as well
rest the case.

Just place a copy of the SeaMonkey shortcut (Start menu, Programs,
SeaMonkey, SeaMonkey) in your Autostart folder (Start menu, Programs,
Autostart). If you want to launch just SeaMonkey Mail independent from
your general startup settings, go to Properties of the new shortcut add
" -mail" (without the quotes) at the end of Target.
