Could you post a link?

http://www.fox.com/house/

I was trying to view the latest House episode, and got the install
their player message. After doing that, the install script message appears.

Thanks...
bj

This just seems to be flash (can only check with Tribute to Kutner as
I am outside the US). So have you got flash installed and activated? (or
do they use a diferent player or the full episodes?)

Kutner is what I wanted to see. I do have Flash installed, and they don't
identify their player that I can see.

The Message suggests that the install script is not compatible with your
browser. That often happens with plugins made for the newer
plugin-system which firefox already has and SM2.0 will have. I bet that
with Seamonkey2.0alpha it would work. If you want to test, give it a try
http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/2.0a3 (it won't touch your
SM1.1.x when installed seperately)

Martin

I think I will try the 2.0 release, and see if that works, because I've had
trouble with other sites that were less important.

Thanks, Martin... hope you're right it won't affect 1.1.14. :)
bj

P.S. - I've changed my mind since reading the instructions. I didn't see
how to install separately, and I've forgotten. :)

I'm wondering if a Firefox fake method would work?

Just install it to another folder, SM2 will import the profile from your
SM1.1.x profile and place the new profile somewhere else automtically :-)

btw: I did not have to use any other plugin than flash, strange...

A pillar of watchmaking tradition, Breguet Watches has a long and
distinguished lineage. Its founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet is
considered by many as the father of watchmaking. Indeed, he is one of
the greatest horologists of all time. Breguet's influence on
watchmaking is unequalled. Signature Breguet styling is evident in
today's masterpieces; blue steel hands, guilloche engraving, and the
fluted caseband. Breguet is one of the oldest surviving watch-making
establishments and is the pioneer of numerous watch-making
technologies. Today, it stands as one of the pillars of both style and
innovation in watchmaking.

SeaMonkey 1.1.15 and Windows Media Player Plug-in Question

2009-04-08 Thread Frog
I am trying to watch the Old Faithful Area Live-Streaming Video
WebCam that can be accessed from this web page:

http://www.nps.gov/yell/photosmultimedia/yellowstonelive.htm

It seems that I am missing a Windows Media Player plug-in that
would allow me to receive this video picture. Here is what is happening-

--I launch the Old Faithful Geyser Live-Video WebCam from the top of the
web page identified above.

--I then see a new window with http://www.nps.gov-NPS Streaming Video -
Seamonkey at the top followed by a second line containing nps.gov. No
streaming video is present.

I next visited the Frequently Asked Questions page (also accessed
from the above referenced web page) hoping to find the answer to my
problem. There I found the following:

Q. I used to be able to watch the webcam when it was first offered, but
now all I get is a blank, pop-up window. What's wrong?
A. This problem has been reported by people who prefer to use Firefox. A
Windows Media Player plug-in for Firefox is available for several
versions of the Windows operating system. You can find the free, 302K
download at Port25.technet.com.

Well, I now know that there is a Windows Media Player plug-in that
is required in order to make Firefox work. I, however, do not know the
name of this plug-in after clicking the download site. The site is
located at:

http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx

I presume, based on what I read on the above web page, that the plug-in
only works with Firefox.

My next stop was to see what about:plugins would tell me if
anything. There I found Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link
Library with nine entries under MIME Type. Again, this does not tell
me much. I presume that I do have Windows Media Player on my system and
that it has nine plug-ins.

Well, that is where I am at this point. I would appreciate any
guidance anybody sends my way regarding this subject. By the way, my
system information is:

Windows XP SP-3

Thanks for your quick response--very much appreciated.

I did as you suggested and still no streaming video. I continue to
notice that Windows Media Player is not reflected any place on the
window that opens (as it attempts to play this video). The only thing I
see (as I stated in my first message) is:

I then see a new window with http://www.nps.gov-NPS Streaming Video
- Seamonkey at the top followed by a second line containing nps.gov.
No streaming video is present.

Could it be that it is attempting to open in something other than
Windows Media Player? Is so, how do I fix this? I so see Windows Media
Player listed under StartAll Programs. When I click on Windows Media
Player, however, the window that appears does not look anything like
what I am seeing when I attempt to run the video.

I currently have the following Windows Media Player items listed
under Add or Remove Programs:

Windows Media Format 11 runtine Size 7.99MB

Windows Media Player 11 Size 7.99MB

Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin Size 0.29MB

Thus, it appears that Windows Media Player 11 plus the Firefox Plugin is
 loaded on my system.

I checked the about:plugins arena again and have only nine plugins listed.

Any thoughts about what I should do next?

It seems that I am missing a Windows Media Player plug-in that
would allow me to receive this video picture. Here is what is
happening-

--I launch the Old Faithful Geyser Live-Video WebCam from the top of
the web page identified above.

--I then see a new window with http://www.nps.gov-NPS Streaming
Video - Seamonkey at the top followed by a second line containing
nps.gov. No streaming video is present.

I next visited the Frequently Asked Questions page (also
accessed from the above referenced web page) hoping to find the
answer to my problem. There I found the following:

Q. I used to be able to watch the webcam when it was first offered,
but now all I get is a blank, pop-up window. What's wrong?
A. This problem has been reported by people who prefer to use
Firefox. A Windows Media Player plug-in for Firefox is available for
several versions of the Windows operating system. You can find the
free, 302K download at Port25.technet.com.

Well, I now know that there is a Windows Media Player plug-in
that is required in order to make Firefox work. I, however, do not
know the name of this plug-in after clicking the download site. The
site is located at:

http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx

I presume, based on what I read on the above web page, that the
plug-in only works with Firefox.

My next stop was to see what about:plugins would tell me if
anything. There I found Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link
Library with nine entries under MIME Type. Again, this does not
tell me much. I presume that I do have Windows Media Player on my
system and that it has nine plug-ins.

Well, that is where I am at this point. I would appreciate any
guidance anybody sends my way regarding this subject. By the way,
my system information is:

Windows XP SP-3

Regards,
Frog

hey froggy, download and install that plugin above. It works for SM
aswell as FF, and the vid plays just fine.

one other thing: when you install it, make sure SM is closed.

Any thoughts about what I should do next?

go back into about:plugins and look for the following:

Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin and the
file for that is: np-mswmp.dll

Microsoft DRM and the file for that is: npdrmv2.dll

Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library and
the file for that is: npdsplay.dll

Microsoft DRM and the file for that is: npwmsdrm.dll

If you don't have any of these, then close SM, and hunt
on your hard drive for them. Once found, COPY them to
the plugin directory where SM the program is installed.

Now try again. Any luck this time?

SeaMonkey 1.1.16 Security Release

2009-04-08 Thread Robert Kaiser

Hi all,

Today, the SeaMonkey project released a new version of its all-in-one
internet suite. SeaMonkey 1.1.16 closes a few critical security
vulnerabilities found in previous versions. With that, SeaMonkey offers
the same level of security as its sibling Firefox 3, which has issued
updates for the same problems recently as well.

The SeaMonkey team urges users of older SeaMonkey versions, including
the SeaMonkey 1.0.x series, which no longer receives security updates,
to upgrade. Additionally, the team continues to strongly urge people
still using the old Mozilla Suite or Netscape 4, 6 or 7 to upgrade to
the new SeaMonkey 1.1.16 version. All these older software packages
suffer from a large and steadily increasing number of security
vulnerabilities because they are no longer being maintained. SeaMonkey
1.1.16 is a modern, drop-in replacement, providing the same familiar
suite functionality with additional features and fully up to date security.

SeaMonkey 1.1.16 is available for free download from the open source
project's website at www.seamonkey-project.org.

it lists tons of possible places. I got that from

John,

The Google gmail Spam Scumbags have found us an easy target.

They found my web site contact page and began sending tons of Spam
Messages, so I created a message filter to send all gmail domain
messages into the trash can.

If someone really wants to contact me through gmail they can use my

It is too bad the folks who are so adamant about real users of this
