Where, and how?

It is not available for newsgroups filters with SeaMonkey 1.*.

It is available for newsgroups filters with SeaMonkey 2.0
:

* Allow to filter news based on any headers (Bug 16913)

Any recommendations on/for/against using the alpha release?

I personally try only the latest nightlies, currently 2.0 beta1-pre, and
I think they are more stable than the previous alpha releases, but
there's at least one stopper bug for me to start using SeaMonkey 2.0
exclusively:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456053

This is a bug in Thunderbird 3.0 betas, also. Some very nice extensions
I currently use with SeaMonkey 1.1.* are not compatible with SeaMonkey
2.0, also, but I guess this will change once SeaMonkey 2.0 gets released
officially.

Any news on a target for the official 2.0 release? Looks like it will
have some features I'll be eager for.

I am not sure I can follow. You mean branching Adblock Plus
development - so that for example Adblock Plus 1.0.3 is released in
parallel with Adblock Plus 1.1? And Adblock Plus 1.0.3 would support
both the new filter syntax and SeaMonkey 1.1? This is theoretically a
possibility, a 1.0.x branch exists already. But I don't have the time
to do it like this, the effort is considerable and there will be too
few people to beta-test this release properly. So if you have
volunteers who would backport the relevant patches to 1.0.x branch -
sure, we can talk about it. If not - sorry.

Yep, that is what I meant. Yes, people working in this area is always an
issue. SM has a small group of users which doesn't help compared to
Firefox. :(

I'm using alpha nightly since a year or so now, and all is fine for my 3
IMAP accounts, 3 POP accounts, newsgroups and RSS feeds, IRC chat and of
course browser...

Be prepared for a complete backup prior to the migration.
I think (not 100% sure..) that the 1st run will invoque a profile
migration to import all your settings into the new profile.

SeaMonkey won't close

2009-05-23 Thread Frank Booth Snr
Is anyone finding with v 1.1.16 that sometimes, when trying to exit
SeaMonkey, the program just hangs? I'm finding about 20% of the time I
need to use Task Manager to close it down, especially if my PC has
been in Hibernation or Standby mode. I don't recall such a problem
with v 1.1.14, at least not as frequently.

I switched to ComCast about a month ago. They have reserved their own
private corner of the Evil Empire, but I must admit that their tech reps
have been easy to reach and very good.

Incoming = mail.comcast.net (pop3) port 110
Outgoing = smtp.comcast.net port 587 or 465(SSL)

Comcast dropped usenet service some time ago, so you will have to
subscribe to one on your own.
