It did for me on two Windows machines.

Insert the following in file user.js in your profile:
user_pref("browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML", true);
// automatically export bookmarks into an HTML file
This causes the export to occur when SeaMonkey terminates. Don't forget
the semi-colon (;) at the end of the first line. The second line is a
comment.

Alternatively, use about:config to set the preference variable
browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML to "True".

However, I prefer using the user.js file so that I can comments to
annotate why I changed a setting. If you do this, it will help you to
remember it in the future.

Thanks for both suggestions. Can I ask the developers to consider
allowing this from the Profile Manager (or somewhere else). It used to

ask if you wanted to use it, now SeaMonkey refuses to use the existing
data and wants to creates a new profile.

In past version that was possible and occasionally very helpful.

Rob, if David;s suggestion does not work (or maybe even before trying
David's advice), close SeaMonkey totally (i.e. even quick start) and
give the three finger salute (Ctrl-Alt-Delete) and have a look at the
running processes to see if Windows still thinks it has SeaMonkey still
running. If so, end process, get back to your desktop and see if you can
re-start SeaMonkey with your missing profile.

If SeaMonkey starts in the new profile, check Tools->Switch Profiles to
see if you can get back to the default Profile.

Tagzilla has a dependency on jslib. It won't work unless jslib is also

all I need to do now is to write some file I/O routines to replace those
