I did not understand it either. Since it is so obscure, perhaps, in the

Re: how to delete list of recent URLs visited? P.S. Now Recycle bin Items Are Hidden

2014-06-22 Thread Mort

Hi,

I do not know if this is connected with my recent problem, but I hope
not. Now, when I click onto my Recycle Bin, there are no icons to
indicate the items that are in the bin. When I click onto Empty Recycle
Bin, then I get a message about deleting x items, X = the number of
items there. With no name and no icon, I no longer know what items are
in fact in the recycle bin. I did not stop recycle bin history when I
reset my PC, just the history in the tool bar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, again.

Thanks.

1. On the SeaMonkey menu bar, select [Edit > Preferences].

2. On the left side of the Preferences window, select [Privacy &
Security > Private Data].

3, On the Private Data pane, check the checkbox for "Location Bar
History" (along with any of the other checkboxes you want).

4. If you always want the history cleared when you termminate
SeaMonkey, also check the checkbox for "Always clear my private data
when I close SeaMonkey" on the Private Data pane.

5. If you want the data cleared immediately, select the Clear Now
button on the Private Data pane.

NOTE WELL: "Private data" consists only of those items for which you
already checked checkboxes on the Private Data pane below "When I ask
SeaMonkey to clear my private data, it should erase:".

Hi David,

It worked beautifully, and I thank you very much. Like many things in

They do if installed as a separate extension when installing the theme.

Nobody noticed they were installing two add-ons?

Looking at the Metal Lion Silver Sea Monkey theme I see an extension

Exactly. I'm not sure from the description how SM is involved.

However, the it does beg the description question: Does it still work
with an older version of SM???

Also, does it work if you create a new profile in SM and use that?

Thank you for your interest.

How is SM involved? See reply to Goeff Welsh.

It did work with previous versions, for a year and a half. Could I
revert to pre-2.26? Suppose so, but I like to keep up to date, for the
same reason that there are updates. It's just that when something works
for a long period, and then stops, it's my nature to find out why. I can
always revert to mailing in checks, a loss of useful function but a
relatively minor one.

No difference with a new profile.

Larry S.

You can easily download an older version, e.g., 2.25 from the bottom of
this page: . Once you
have downloaded a version that you know worked, uninstall the version
you're running now and install the older version. If it works, you know
that SM 2.26+ is a problem. If it doesn't work, it indicates that
something else is the likely culprit and that the upgrade of SeaMonkey
is merely a correlation rather than causation.

When it comes to this sort of thing, it can be changes on the server
side, updates to Windows, your anti-virus/anti-malware or any number of
other things that can get in the way.

agreed;

once you call up the OS to start other software there are too many
other possibilities, You have to actually prove/disprove its a SM issue
by doing like Trane says.

Basically what the site is doing is web-enabling your scanner, similar
to the phone apps that allow you to take a picture of a check and
deposit it...I've wondered how and when they'd get around to doing this
via computer. Either a cache has gotten hung someplace or SM has
suddenly gone unsupported by the bank software.

What I'd suggest is to try physically disconnecting and reconnecting
your scanner - try it without and with SM launched and see what happens.

You might also try spoofing the older SM 2.26 UA string and see if it
works with that.
