Thanks.

Sad to say I'm thinking along the same lines... I was already told I
just had to copy everything in the mozilla/seamonkey/profiles/.
directory into the mozilla/thunderbird/profiles/. directory.
I'm thinking you'd do the same thing with the
mozilla/firefox/profiles/***.*** directory.

There'll be files in each that won't be used by the respective software,
but you should have everything you need. If you feel brave you can try
deleting stuff out of each new directory if you think it isn't needed...
but make sure you have backups "just in case."

By now you must know that my "address" is fake to defeat the spambots.

And anyway, if I can read you here, I don't need a second copy at home.

What am I doing wrong? Because...

I sent a post to the list a short time ago thanking you for the post
you made - that I include below - but received no copy of that(& I
am receiving other posts from many users); I just receive a
form-email confirmation that I made a post - not a copy of it.

Wish I knew. I've never used the mailing list version; I just go through
NNTP. Someone else will have to answer that.

At any rate, your two messages today at 12:56:28 -0500 and 13:40:39

I set preferences on the Seamonkey subscription webpage to receive
copies of my own posts - like I am just another user, I am sure - with
cookies set.

Am I fighting another profiles problem? I created a new one about a
week ago.

Or am I confused on something set wrong here?

See below what I received - your post, that I replied to, & so far no
copy received of my reply/post to it:

Thank You, Sir! And there are 2 others missing - that I will not repost
- moot now. Lost possibly due to an inet problem here with ATT cellular
data, & with a Seamonkey profile that went bad. Maybe it is all fixed
now. I assume I should receive a copy of what I post/send to the list -
like every user does, to confirm, as I selected that option on the
preferences webpage. And this post should show up in my inbox too, being
I send it to the list. If I receive it, I will know. ...

We will see if this mess is fixed. Thanks Again!

I've never had that problem with WF, but perhaps that's because I never
store bank passwords on my computer... a word to the wise.

I do accept their cookies, of course -- can't log in without them. But
since I'm paranoid, I routinely clear them the moment I log out.

They are working, because I did apply the patch for bug 1176599
manually. It is still not solved in the comm-beta repo itself, so e.g.
tinderbox builds are still broken.
