Hello,

I added a hint at "SeaMonkey/Troubleshooting"
.

It would be great if other proven workarounds for other problems would
be added by users.

Neither do I. Maybe they come from the OS or from choices we made in
some dialogs like the Print dialog? Anyway, it seems to me that the new
SM version interprets some of these preferences differently and
therefore chokes on them. Resetting at least those settings that refer
to page sizes, margins etc. can't hurt, IMHO. For me at least it did
solve the problem. (I did not have this problem on my Linux PC, by the way.)

Hello,

like here ...
I don't have any problems, but I see tons of "user changed" printer
preferences what definitively have not been changed by me. May be there
are other processes which do those changes.

I wonder whether with 2.46 additional changes come and cause problems,
or whether these troublemaking changes have there been for a long time,
but started to cause problems with 2.46.

I ran into the same problem just an hour ago (Win7). The solution
(inspired by the reporter of the above-mentioned bug) was to open the
page "about:config" in the browser and reset all the printer-related
entries marked as "user set" (except "print_printer").

The bug report is exactly the same issue as I am seeing.
I did look at about:config and there are many settings that say "user
set", and not just related to printers, but I don't remember setting any
of them?

Thank you in advance. :)

Have you compacted folder? With mbox being individual messages
concatenated into 1 text file when a file is "deleted" it is not removed
but a header flag 'deleted' is set. It is not until the folder is
compacted where the whole file is rebuild skipping the 'deleted'
messages. So every time you have a new draft and the old draft is
'removed' it is still there until the Drafts file is rebuilt.

Yes since I mentioned compacting in my original post. ;) So, it sounds
like this is by design for every save I do. Thanks.

There are often several entries in Helper Applications for what users think of
as the same file type. This is because the server may send them with different
MIME types, and each is listed separately. For example, I have a total of six
MP3 entries.

Is it possible that you're fiddling with the wrong entry and need to modify a
different one?

Definitely a possibility! But I only found two when searching for "MP3":
   MP3 Format Sound (audio/mp3)
   MP3 Format Sound (audio/mpeg3)

I've also tried asking the screen in preferences to use "Seamonkey" for MP3 files -- but
that request gets converted to "RealPlayer," which works fine on my Windows computer but
not within Seamonkey.

My voicemail messages are sent to me as MP3 files attached to an email.

I've always just double-clicked the file name in the little "Attachments:"

Lately when I try to listen to a message, the browser window is triggered but
it's just a black screen. If I save the MP3 file and open it in other software,
it plays fine, so the problem isn't with the attachments themselves.

Does anyone have an idea what might have changed?

The only recent change I recall is changing a setting so that videos on web

When is "Exit" not an "Exit"??

2017-01-05 Thread Daniel
I'm currently dog-sitting for my youngest sister whilst here family
visit her husbands relo's in Scotland and England.

Last night, after doing my normal Interneting, I thought I might try
getting my Win7 Laptop to connect via their Wireless modem, so I went
"Off-Line" in SeaMonkey actually on the Mail & News screen, then I
closed that screen and then closed the Chatzilla screen, leaving my
Browser screen open, but "Off-Line".

I then turned of my USB 3G dongle connection via the Win7 "Wireless
Broadband" connectiod-thingie.

I then found that I could not actually turn on the Wireless connection
because the Orange keyboard thingie stayed Orange.

No great problem ... I might investigate it further later.

But, before I closed the SeaMonkey Browser screen, I switched back to
"On-Line". I then closed SeaMonkey and switched my Laptop off.

Tonight, after connecting via my 3G USB Dongle, I started SeaMonkey and
went to my e-mail account and found all my Trash from yesterday
still there!

At Edit|Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings, when I select "Server
Settings" on my Mail account, I still see a tick next to "Empty Trash on
Exit" under Message Storage.

So my question is Is this Exit when I Exit the Mail & Newsgroups screen
or when I Exit SeaMonkey as a whole?? (I'm wondering why exiting my
Browser screen or my ChatZilla screen or my .. should determine when
my Trash should actually be emptied rather than when I Exit my Mail &
Newsgroups screen!)
