Ed's data is out of date.
To back up passwords, you need to copy key3.db and logins.json.
For more information, see

I have all three files on my SM 2.46. Do you mean to say that
signons.sqlite is no longer in use, can be ignored/deleted? After what
version was it abandoned? I see the modification date for my
signons.sqlite is 10/2/2014.

Strange issue with commenting on http://brickingaround.com/

2017-09-13 Thread Jonathan Wilson
If I visit http://brickingaround.com/ with SeaMonkey 2.48 then click one of
the articles and fill in the details and try to post a comment, I get a
strange logo where the post form was and the post doesn't go through. If I
post with Internet Explorer (IE 11 with whatever the latest patches Windows
Update offers me on my Windows 7 box) the post works fine.

Can anyone who knows more about this tell me what SeaMonkey is doing
differently and why this site doesn't work in SeaMonkey and what can be
done to fix it (changing settings/prefs in SeaMonkey, talking to the web
site owner to get them to make changes, using an extention or some custom
JavaScript or something or something else entirely)

Why are you not backing up your entire system? I do that weekly. See
my .

If I want only my passwords, I use the Password Exporter extension from
. I
had to run the .xpi file through the converter at
in order to install it in
SeaMonkey.

For my Address Book, I use the built-in [Tools > Export] menu items in
the Address Book window. That is for Thunderbird, but I suspect it
works the same for SeaMonkey. If you have multiple address books (I
have 6), however, you get a separate file for each.

Holy megabytes, Batman !

I just wanted to save my passwords and bookmarks 1
That Password thing you told me about sounds like something Abby Sciuto
might try explaining to Jethro Gibbs on NCIS !
My reaction is about the same as Gibbs'.

MAYBE Mozilla could come up with a Password Backup function in "Tools"
in the
'Manage Passwords' menu choice (?) !Maybe it could print out the
list of
Sites and Usernames and Passwords all lined up like a chart - it would
be nice !

People WOULD like to backup every one of the compiled doodads in SeaMonkey.

BTW - what is the "Data Manager" for ?
SeaMonkey is GREAT - but has a lot of unexplained "Computer Geek" stuff
which
is not "user friendly" - an old term that still applies to good software.
