Yeap, something like that, in a separate (UseNet) account, using
Eternal-September.org server.

All outgoing messages to the E-S server go into a Folder under Local
Directories.

I thought UseNet was an cloud forum.  Are you reading and replying to
messages from within SM?

Ray

Yes, from with-in SM Mail & *NEWS* screen via a News account (similar to
a mail account, but different) to connect to an account I have on
Eternal-September.com Server.

If I could be bothered, I could set up an news account with
Goggle-Groups to read UseNet posts ... but who could be bothered!! ;-)

I'm using SeaMonkey 2.49.5 on Linux Mint.

Don't know if it leads anywhere but . "wyciwyg" as in "What You
C(See) Is What You Get"!!

C = Cache

This discussion from 2010
 produced several
plausible suggestions (eg, Safe Mode, clear browser cache, clear DNS

didn't seem to find a definitive solution.

O.K., but my C for (See) makes sense . to me, at least!

If you do, then SM mail looks like an ongoing conversation.

Which has worked for me for so long!! Oh!! Well!!

Did you look at the pic I linked?

Descending puts the current thread at the top of the window where it is
visible when the folder opens.

Try it my way and see if your posts are in the tree.

Ray

Sprung!! No, I hadn't, Ray, but now I have and that look like how my
Threads Pane might have looked except my Threads Pane does not show
MY OP. My Threads Pane starts with YOUR message Dated 1/8/2020 9:47 PM
(adjusted for different Time Zone to be 9/01/2020 4:47 PM in my SM, i.e.
19 hrs difference. So, I'm Guessing you're Western U.S.)

No, changing to Descending, as you suggest, puts the oldest active
*THREAD* at the bottom of the Pane, but the order in which the posts
with-in a Thread didn't actually change (and MY OP is still not showing
;-P )

However, I've left it as "Descending" so will see if things change when
I log back in in about six hours!

Those are "lazy-loaded" images, handled by javascript code.
...

You can provide UserJS or, more easily, if (as you should) you have
NoScript installed, a NoScript page surrogate (!@ site prefix) for the
site on these lines:

for (let ii of document.querySelectorAll("img[data-src]")) {
ii.setAttribute("src", ii.getAttribute("data-src"));
}

See .
